The Xbox Onesie

To me the best thing about the MGS series is how completely bats*** crazy it always is but i enjoy that kind of thing. The last good Metal Gear game i played was the one by Platinum! "Nano machines , son!"

Can I also state, whilst on a roll, what is the love for Shenmue? I played both, 1 on the Dreamcast and 2 on the XBOX and can quite safely say I have played 100's of better games with better story telling and deeper lore and character development.........I can understand the FF7 stuff and the excitement for that, I will be buying that for the PC, but this........no way.
For me FF7 was just an ok game when i played it. ( I thought games like Xenogears were far superior as far as story/lore goes and Grandia 2 had a much better combat system) So the FF7 remake didn't do much for me. Shenmue how ever was the true megaton. It was ahead of it's time in many ways, for one thing it captured the "living city" ( or in Shenmue's case a town) much better than other "open world" games did, even GTA up until IV. While in those games npcs walked around like aimless lifeless drones, npc's in Shenmue had actual schedules that they followed.

For me it was kind of cool to see people come out of their shops at the end of a day, actually watch them close up and go home. Open up the next day at the regular time. If you needed to meet another character you actually had to be aware of their routines as to not miss them. In Ryo's own house you could interact with just about everything from opening the fridge to opening drawers, where as in GTA you have these cool looking safe houses that you couldn't really do anything in at the time. ( even now you are pretty limited in what you can d in them) It was one of the most immersive games i had ever played. Not to mention the aspect of learning different techniques from multiple masters, the fighting system, etc. It was not without it's flaws but it was a great game. I am very happy that finally we get to finish the damn story, especially the way the sequel ended. I will admit that what is left of the Sega fanboy in me isn't thrilled about it being console exclusive to a Playstation console , and really annoyed going to other forums and seeing Sony fanboys use it as a bullet point in their list warring.

God know when it was on the Dreamcast Sony fans s*** on it constantly, whenever they got the chance. Whatever though at least Lan Di will finally get what's coming to him, three whole console Gens later.

Living in a box.
Living in a cardboard box.

Thanks for advice. I'm going to go with 2 TB passport when I need it.
Sounds good. Added to the internal's 400gb of usable space means you should have about 2.4tb of space to play with.

I'd estimate:
- A full budget game is around 40gb
- A full budget game has about 5gb of patches/saved game data at the end of the day
- A typical indie style game is 1-5 gb
- Apps are small. Most should be no more than 100 megs
- Various media, recorded videos and such which is up to you if care about it.... ??? gb

Add all that up and you should be able to ballpark how many games/apps you can have with your 2.4tb worth of data. And that assumes you don't delete old unwanted stuff as you go along, which frees up space.

I LOVE Shenmue. I fell in love with it's story, setting and characters after the first one..the second one was very cool and ended bitter sweet. It's hard to explain sometimes..it's one of those games you either love to pieces or don't. Ryo Hazuki's journey for revenge actually felt like it was my quest. People don't understand (LoL). Panzer Dragoon Saga and Lost Odyssey were the same for me.
Never had a DC, so all I know about Shenmue is reading about it and watching vids. Never had an Xbox OG either so couldn't play the sequel.

But watching QTEs and fights is entertaining stuff. Amazing what DC could do.

I'm having a weird issue. Bought the 2TB WD my passport ultra and connected it to the back usb entrance on the xbox one. Yesterday played forza horizon 2 and the game crashed after around 3 hours of nonstop playing. Went to dash restarted game and played nearly 3 hours again then same thing happened. Any thoughts?

may be some bad data maybe? I mean once the game loads you should be good to go odd it's always at the 3 hour mark too. any other games having the same issue?

I have no idea why the Metal Gear games are so popular.

I have seen comments that the new one looks like "art" I am sorry but it looks like exactly what it is, by the numbers sandbox title done by Japanese developer trying ape a western style of game genre.

The 40min e3 demo was IMO horrible.
The irony is that the original MGS was completely original game with no precedence before it. It was Splinter Cell that "aped" MGS. The only thing Kojima borrowed was the style of western cinema, with a good dose of Escape from New York. The game itself, wholly original. Dated, probably.

...Shenmue rules!

Ha! I'm the same. The PS4 / PC only is a slap in the face to Sega fans. The original games were on Dreamcast and Xbox. A lot of Sega players went Xbox (especially when they released the JSRF +Sega GT Xbox bundle). The truth of the matter is that Microsoft should've backed the project ages ago. Now we have Yu Suzuki (the man, the legend) on a Sony stage (the irony) asking for support of his own kickstarter for 2 million. With part of the Sony crowd at E3 scratching their head "who the f*** is this guy, again?"

I am glad that it's coming though. Who knows..maybe someday I can finish my quest on Xbox. Stranger things have happened..

I copied my games from internal to external then deleted the games on internal afterwards.Maybe i should have moved them instead of copying. I just deleted forza and reinstalled it and did a hard reset. Gonna try again in a bit see if that fixes it.

Well, how nice!!!

I just received a message from Fizzie that they appreciate that i played Sunset Overdrive and i received several new outfits and weapons. Thank you Insomniac, awesome!

Hopefully, everything works out. Saved game files are in the cloud, so unless it has something to do with corrupted cloud files, a fresh install may work.

Sometimes my Xbox 360 demos years back would get corrupted some reason. I'd get that yellow warning symbol out of the blue. Delete and redownload and it suddenly works again.

Im actually a fan of the original. Everything is easy to access. But it could do with a bit more speed accessing different areas of the UI.

If something isnt working however, thats what people do. They fix it! Not too strange in my world.

I had no problems with the original.

Loving how this current UI is. It is solid, fast and efficient. Best on console so far. The new one does look much better though, so that is great!

Agreed with the rest. I've always been fond of how the UI looked. The new one....seems to be even better by the looks of it.
