343 has an incredible opportunity for a motivated, experienced Destruction Artist who is highly skilled in creating AAA quality Art content and animation for games. The ideal candidate will have a superior eye for silhouette, composition, animation\motion and physics that allows you to deliver content at the expected quality level of HALO. The candidate will also have exceptional technical skill in creating Houdini tools and simulations. You are knowledgeable and up to date on modern trends of real-time destruction techniques for games and understand how to create highly optimized content to run at frame rate and within the expected constraints. Additionally, you will be highly efficient and deliver on all technical requirements of the art.
You should have a strong understanding of modern construction processes of game environments as well as the set up and running of art directed destruction simulation to produce maximum impact for the player. The candidate should be highly organized, self-motivating and able to adapt and learn in a fast paced environment. This candidate is expected to be extremely creative, highly collaborative and be effective in communicating and incorporating feedback. You will work closely with Lead Environment Artists, Destruction Lead, Art Director and Production Partners. The ideal candidate must be highly effective and positive in ambiguous situations, able to self-motivate to high performance, manage your time effectively and react quickly to changing requirements.
Candidate Responsibilities:
Create Best-in-Class Destruction for Hard Surface objects, Organic objects and environments
Create Houdini tools and processes to aid in the creation of animated destruction
Take ownership of the content and work through to completion
Constantly improve and advocate for best in class content creation and production practices
Collaborate with peers to build the best game experience possible
Create highly optimized content for real-time rendering
Follow all technical guidelines and performance requirements
Work in ambiguity while still delivering timely and high quality results
Actively seeks out, incorporates and provides feedback
Highly motivated and contributes to a positive working environment
Candidate Requirements:
3+ years of game experience working on AAA console products
Superb understanding of motion and physics to produce high quality, realistic and fun destruction sequences and animations
Superior eye for shape, form and detail in the destroyed models
Excellent understanding of modern destruction tools and pipelines
Experience working with next gen Real Time Shaders and Texturing workflows
Expert in Houndini Software required
Highly proficient with industry standard 3D software like Maya, 3DS Max, Softimage and Adobe Creative Suite tools
Highly organized with excellent spoken and written communication skills
Excellent Time Management skills, Creative Process and Production Process skills
Experience working with large and diverse teams while working at scale is a plus
Experience working on FPS or sci-fi games is a plus
