I forced myself to play assault more and it can be done. It just gets frustrating sometimes on the bigger maps. You see someone 50 yards away and don't bother to shoot because you'll never hit them with the smg.

On big maps you kind of have to play the sneaky bastard. Sneak around and hide in a shell hole or something and suddenly the flag starts to cap and everyone is looking for you.

I really wish they would add a rifle option to the assault class. Maybe a bolt action or something without much stopping power. The class is kind of balanced out by their very useful gear but of course in some situations, assault is just the wrong class.

I've actually never used the shotgun. The SMG is fine, but obviously very situational.

I am currently playing assault and haven;t noticed much of an issue. Am still using the default SMG and been doing perfectly fine with it. Most games I end up with a 15 or better K/D ratio. It isn't like I am playing in a special way either, am just playing like I do with all classes.

I know the game is made for plebs so they can actually sell but wish 90% of the people in this game used bolt action weapons.

What's funny is 1942 had more bolt action weapons. The problem is they picked weapons that are probably historically accurate, but not very common. I know the Germans were still using bolt action rifles as their mainline gun in WW2.

I think it comes down to playstyle. I tend to keep my distance a lot more.

Then you need to become a true tank hunter. Hasn't really been a need to be one of those since Battlefield 2 and the art of it has been lost for the most part.

Oh yes, I've always been an engie back in the BF2-4 days. Honestly I don't see a whole lot of tanks and I am able to take them down quickly when I do (most drivers are dumb and will park next to the flag). People on Reddit always whine about OP tanks but I never have run into a problem. Granted I play conquest more than operations.

Yeah. Tanks have never been issue providing the anti tank people do their damn job. I mean between mines, explosives, and AT rocket launchers you have something to suit every scenario and map.

Also helps if support folk do their damn job too and keep you stocked up.

Yeah the only time I see a team dominated by tanks is when they are all other classes. Give it a few minutes and a few people switch and the problem is solved. That's actually what I like about this game, the vehicles don't dominate too much.

I still just prefer a good old rifle like the mondragon storm over an smg. Even trying to single fire that assault smg at any kind of range is pointless.

Got my first medal lat night--Order of the Red Dragon.

Am 3/5 for my second one too--the Order of Augustus.

I think this is the first BF game not to have a bunch of weapons that aren't class specific and can be used by all.

Didn't know that if you use the commo rose as squad leader you can see where other squad leaders have ordered their squad to attack. Plus, you can use it to issue orders rather than use the spotting feature.

Commo rose? Didn't know that feature was there. Sounds good.

They should put all that in the first mission so people understand what they can do. Especially on consoles, it seems to many squad leaders simply don't know what to do (just "spot" the objective).

Even issuing an order to defend an objective gives everyone XP who follows it.

Also with one of the new patches, if you request an order and the squad leader doesn't respond, you become leader. If there are no orders issued, do this every time. Otherwise it is free XP that people are ignoring.

The defend order doesn't require anyone to do anything. As along as you still hold the objective at the end of two minutes from the order you get the successfully defended objective reward. It's great if you are dominating a map and most of the fighting is around one flag. Just defend one further away.

Definitely, although you should be defending at that point anyway. Don't attack the last flag, that will just let the other team flip the spawns. Defend the next logical flag they will take and hold the map.

It is just like 3 flag domination. Hold 2/3 and you win.

Anybody here used the support Huot Automatic Low Weight gun that you unlock at level 10? Am wondering if it is worth grinding out A.S.A.P or not.

I'm nowhere near 10 on any class. The grind is very annoying. I love the game but the number of hours needed to grind is just too much.

For the Assault, Medic & Support its not really a grind. All you need to do is play the class. I only play about three games at a time when I'm on and I've gotten one to level 6 and there two to level 4 without any real effort. The Sniper one is slow going for me though. But I don't enjoy that class as much.

My problem is I need 30 minutes bare minimum to jump into a good game. Probably more as my first will probably be in progress. So that's really 45-60 minutes. So that kind of makes it a weekend only game for me. Just too many other games to play.

Same. Play about 3 or 4 matches a night and I would say I put around 12 hours into support class and am also rank 6.

Would be nice if they shows your class progress at the end of each game so you can see how much you gained.

Why does it matter if it has started? Just jump in and start capping, killing and resupplying stuff.
