The Battlefield 1 Holiday Event

"Today we’re kicking off the Battlefield™ 1 Holiday Event. To make sure your holiday sessions with Battlefield 1 will be extra merry, we’ve prepared a bunch of events and giveaways for this period.

Let’s get right to it. Below you’ll find a schedule of what we’ve got lined up for you during the holidays.

December 21: The new Custom Game “Blind Delivery” goes live. Tackle this unique take on the War Pigeons mode where the minimap is turned off and only handguns and explosives are allowed.

December 22: The “Holiday Truce” Dog Tag will be awarded to all players starting December 22 (one per account.) All you need to do is login to Battlefield 1 after this date and this iconic Dog Tag will be yours.

December 22: Vehicle Skins are introduced to Battlefield 1. In the new Battlepacks revision you might get hold of two Heavy Tank skins: the Distinguished “SchnucK” or the Legendary “Desert Gold”.

December 23 – December 29: All players that login to Battlefield 1 during this period will receive a free Battlepack (one per account.) Want to learn more about what’s inside these packs? Head to the Battlepack page.

December 23 – December 29: All Battlefield 1 Premium Pass* owners that login between December 23rd and December 29 will receive two Superior Battlepacks. (This is additional to the 14 Superior Battlepacks Premium members already get.)

So, I took a break from playing for the past few weeks, because I've been pretty busy at work trying to catch up on things before the holidays. i came back to playing (on ps4)....and the visuals look uglier than before. Was there a downgrade?

Yes. Sony decided the game looked so good they've decided to down grade it.

Joking sarcasm aside, that is a bit mad. Nothing like that happened on X1. And why would they do that? Was there performance issues with the game on PS4?

Going by the response in that article it would seem it isn't intentional.

GTA 5 had a similar thing happen with unintentional downgraded graphics

I don't know honestly, but I see it for sure. And it's not on all maps, but the textures just look....I don't know, off. Maybe they're not loading properly and will be patched in?
 
I genuinely miss playing this game. Has been a while since a game made me miss playing it.

f***ed my back up Xmas eve. Was bed ridden for 5 days and is still pretty f***ed now.

I tried getting in and out of my car this morning(to buy an Xbox sub), getting in was not so bad, getting out was the most undignified exit from a car ever. :laugh:

Yeah. Getting old sucks. Be lazy and buy your sub online.
 
Played a ton of this over the weekend. Seems like the Christmas noobs are still out in force. Game is a blast with a full squad.

Played a couple of games last-night, was so much fun being back on the frontline. First map was my most hated, Monte Grappa, and I absolutely dominated.

I love my Huot.

I'll try to get on tonight. Was knackered yesterday and went to bed early.
 
Not a sniper but I enjoyed that map. Maybe because I was sick of always getting stuck on Ballroom Blitz and one other map.
 
Anybody getting weird graphical flickers on city maps?

I was playing last night and every city map played had them. Not sure if it is a geometry issue or not. Maps like Quentin Scar were fine, though.

Finally had some time yesterday to try out this out online on XB One. Great game it's a lot of fun. Did pretty decent starting out.

What are some go to guns to unlock?
 
I played this last night for first time in at least a month. Probably a mistake although I did have fun on the Rush match. Conquest is just garbage though. Spawn die spawn die spawn die. Game still feels absolutely broken in that I shoot someone in the back several times, only for them to twirl around and melt me in a couple bullets. The Rush match felt better so maybe it was just lag city in conquest.
