I think MS mean to say same graphics but lower res. 1080p/ 1440 vs 4K. I don´t know if all next gen game will be 4K ( Native, DLSS, checkerboard etc) as standard. So a machine at 1/2 the teraflop maybe able to render same everything else except lower res.But didn’t MS say the S will be able to produce the same graphics as the Series X? I thought the rules were what MS/Sony says is gospel until proven otherwise? Same goes for the 9tf debate and RDNA 1.5 for PS5? I mean if we’re going down this route now then we have to take into account that Sony’s own PlayStation graphics engineer said it was RDNA 1.5 a halfway house re between 1 and 2 in a private message on Twitter. Yes he tried to walk it back days later after it became big news, something about he was tired or something and confused RDNA1.5 with RDNA2 It’s not like it was a slip of the tongue, he actually said it’s RDNA1 with some parts of RDNA2.
I mean as Jinca says, I’d doubt these devs would comment if they wasn’t sure and this is Sonys engineer who developed the graphics architecture on PS5 so he definitely knows his s***.
a 6Tf machine probably is less capable of producing polygons as well, so you have to set the polygon at Serit’s S capability . Not sure Polygons will be chock point next gen.
for my own game, the biggest choke is video memory. Big S 4K textures take massive memories.
