The only one on that list I want is the Ascent and that's not confirmed to be a launch day game, it's also coming to One X so I'll just buy it on that or wait for the eventual PS5 release that'll likely come within a year, the team making it is very small.

It's a cross-gen game so PS4 is getting it the same day as Xbox it's just the upgraded version isn't coming to PS5 until March, BUT doesn't Phil Spencer not want companies to hold tech back on other platforms? lol he's such a used car salesman and people buy his BS.

right, he should follow Jim Ryan’s approach, get disgusted at back compat and generations and then flip a switch and announce support for the next five years, instead of two or three, for the current gen...

Come on mate I said it was my opinion and a lot of people aren't exactly too excited by the launch line up of either console, how can I have double standards when I like both consoles and want to play all the games both companies can offer.
What games do you even like just out of curiosity?

Nobody pretends Jim Ryan is some kind of gaming saint but Spencer has plenty of stans for some reason and s*** never sticks to him like it should.

I feel ya...I believe it may be because Jim comes across as a “aggressive career suit” like my grandfather, but Phil is the “blue collar gamer” like my uncle... I forget where I’m going with this but yee, donuts :p

A lot of people or just the few loud voices HERE aren't happy about the lineup. So what. Like i said earlier, a launch lineup is not suppose to appeal to just one individual's preference as a particular genre doesn't revolve around them. This is exactly what happened with the Xbox; it was so busy catering to users who only played shooters (online) and racers with everyone else getting neglected. Therefore, fewer peope got the system. So when I say Sony has a great launch lineup compared to their pass systems, I'm not making that up because it's true. So if some fanboy is so insecure to the point where they have to downplay that, then it's not the lineup that's the problem.

I can tell you right now that out of that entire launch lineup, my interest is two of those game, but that doesn't make either of the other games any less deserving of being on that list, because what I don't like, someone else will. So it's not what I want. It's what the wider consumer wants.

And a double standard is when you defend the power behind next generation hardware just to tear it down when it doesn't fit your narrative. Games being cross gen isn't new for launch. Newer gen consoles have always followed this direction. Why? Because it takes advantage of that next-gen hardware for those wanting to pick one up. In the very same way old tech won't grant you ray-tracing, 3D audio or even better looking/more dense areas, in the case of PlayStation, none of them will grant you the feature set in the DualSense controller. So why would someone want to get a backwards compatible title if they didn't absolutely have to? It doesn't makes sense, and if you're going to defend that, then what's the point in worrying about how powerful your next system is? Keep your old system and call it a day.

Ok. But you make it sound like the Xbox isn't dealing with this, too but on a more inferior scale. Yet, this is what everyone were doing flips over just a few pages back and how great it was as it was being compared to Sony's approach, and not once did anyone shoot it down other than a small few like myself who simply didn't agree because next-gen mattered more.

What I listed were actual next-gen titles. It doesn't matter how you may perceive them. This is what the launch lineup looks like, and this is what those interested in getting a PlayStation is going to see. It's clearly a robust lineup to anything PlayStation has ever done in the pass.

I don't know how ANYONE thought they were keeping full visual fidelity @ 60fps. Another thing about DiRT 5- I thought this game was supposed to have raytracing...
 
I assume with Xbox Series X being such an underpowered horrible piece of s*** console with no games, JinCa won't be buying one?
