That's not what they are saying for this Playstation thing. The Kinect, like any voice command device, has to listen to a degree in order to function.

This is Sony, or others, recording you in order to censor and control what you say, ffs. They literally say it. Can't wait to see how it's abused. Hope you don't express your opinion online.
Kinect also watched us.
Anyways it's a dick move on Sony's part.
They need to feel the heat for this.

Yeah, RDNA3 isn't a thing for either of these consoles. They still haven't even launched RDNA2 (launch on the 28th) and the odds are they are still working on design for RDNA3. I generally don't watch the videos posted here so maybe this one is different, but anyone suggesting even RDNA3 features is almost certainly full of s***, unless they mean features that will be in 3 because they're on earlier generations as well.
Did you watch the video?

Didn't watch the video so are they saying PS5 has RDNA3 now?

Mark Cerny mentioned that the processor would support some future, PC GPU capabilities due to a collaboration they had with AMD on such a feature set. The plot only thickened after that. If this source is correct, it is geometry based.

raytracing is a future feature?

wouldn’t AMD have mentioned their collaboration prominently with their showcases, like instead of bringing Spencer to share info of their colabs?

Unless you believe Mark Cerny made it all up, I'm not sure why you would think he wasn't serious.

The only way I see anything RDNA3 related making it into a console is if it's a feature that the console maker actively worked on and is going to allow AMD to include in future hardware but that's still almost surely not happening.

Wait people are upset that they can record voice chat on their online service? I would have figured both companies are already doing this, why would you have a private convo over PSN or xbox live? If they can be held liable for something that's said over their network they'll need to have a way to monitor it, it's not like our phone calls are even all that private really. It's sad that this is how things are but this is nothing new and it'll probably only get worse.

So, yeah, exactly what I thought. Some source even your Sony blinders has to preface with "if this source is correct."

I don't know why people are so fixated on RDNA 3 features, it could well be that Sony has some specific RDNA2 feature that they co-developed that is only available to them for now, that's more likely than anything RDNA3 as that's still so far off and as Hrudey has pointed out RDNA2 isn't even out yet for desktop hardware.

Either was RDNA 2 but yet it is used in the next gen consoles.

With Sony working with AMD for RDNA 2 I believe PS5 could be using a RDNA 3 feature or 2 with its custom GPU.

Xbox 360's gpu also used tech that wasn't yet in the PC.

RDNA 3 is scheduled to be on a different fab process than 2. I'd be willing to accept they did something custom with AMD but they're not releasing features from a future architecture on a different process.

If there are specific features they've collaborated on that's one thing but I don't believe they'd specifically be RDNA3 features, that's years out and RDNA2 products aren't even on the market yet.

The custom could be RDNA 3 based.
We don't know yet but I'm sure things will come to light soon.
