I buy my consoles based on what games they offer me. Xbox offers me Halo, Gears, Forza. PS offers me Gran Turismo, God of War and Uncharted. Each console has different IP's that I must and want to play. The Backwards Compatibility is the icing on the top. So I want BOTH, BC and next gen. I get that with PS5 and Xbox.

I don't post theoretical numbers DriedMangoes. I don't even understand how the numbers work and what they mean. When I say 12 > 9, it's a long standing joke. Like "Craig" is a joke. Or "Xbox fridge" is a joke. Or PS5 "Rest in Peace" mode is a joke.

Just by looking at what MS has shown us with Gears 5, Gears Tactics, Forza Horizon 4, Sea of Thieves patches on Xbox Series X, as well as what they have shown us with Avowed, Everwild, Fable and more next gen sneak peaks they gave us, it's clear that the XSX has some serious power.

You put me in the "you guys" department, which makes zero sense. I got my Xbox Series X on day one, and I only played it on day one. I haven't played it since. I have, however, played my PS5 every single day since it was released. I just ask that you use "you guys" with some young whippernsappers that enjoy those wildcard statements.

Ok jeez. I won't group you anymore with the "you guys". Didn't think it would garner such a big reaction out of you. But to be fair, you and Swede are the ONLY ones I have seen post those numbers on a consistent basis so cut me some slack here. I know you've always been more Xbox biased so that may have played a factor too. Buying both consoles does not make you immune to that. I've known you since the teamxbox days (forgot your name there though lol). Never said the XSX was underpowered or anything either. Both are capable machines , just would be nice to see some credit to the PS5 where it is due too.

I am giving PS5 credit. It has 99% of my play time right now over my Series X.

I was Hedon and changed my name to Bogie 19th there too.

It's an old game with pretty new graphics. Kind of like a cougar who just got a boob job - they nice, but she's still got 45 years of mileage down below even if the boobs are factory direct. But congrats to you for being firm that you didn't buy the console for old games that get improved for free, just old games that get sold to you again. 🤡

When they do these comparisons they rarely have played the entire game and when they do resolution it's a screen shot from a particular moment, as they said in their video they had like 10 shots, they haven't even finished the game nor have they gone through the entire map so it's all just based on samples. That's why people who do these comparisons can come up with different results depending on where and when they took their shots.

It's a remake yes nobody will say it's a "new" game but I personally never played the original and I wouldn't have bothered had it not gotten this remake., the only BC games I even play on my One X are the ones that got 4K upgrades and even then it's only RDR and The Witcher 2, I've given some a shot like fable 2 but it far too often it looks like a blurry mess in motion and I just get tired of it.

The only "old" part of the Demon's Souls Remake is most of the game mechanics and story, otherwise everything is new. I've also never played the 2009 version so going through it for the first time and it's amazing. But nice one! Insulting everyone who bought the remake even after they've played the 2009 version.

So the thing that's not new is the stuff that makes it a game and not a movie. Which is fine, I mean I've played KOTOR on three different generations of XBox plus PC and bought it in three different formats, but it being in 4k and even animation patching or higher framerates or whatever doesn't make it a new game.

Demon Souls isn’t a new game. It’s the same game as it was in 2009. Same map, same game play, same characters, same levels, same bosses, same janky animations but prettier.

I am not gonna call Halo MCC a new game. I am not gonna call Halo CE Anniversary Edition a new game. I am not gonna call the 3rd or 4th Shadow of Colossus a new game.

Animations are totally new so it's not just patching :) they just made sure the hit animations came at the exact same time so the timing during combat didn't deviate from the original. This a 100% remake nothing is just a simple patch.

I don't know why the guys at DF think the models look better in AC Unity, I think that game is underrated as hell but the characters faces in the new game look much better IMO, the skin alone is a big jump as well as the eyes. The hair could be one area that needs improving but you can also change hair styles in AC: Valhalla you can't do that in Unity.

Nope cause the mechanics are very much current as are the visuals.

Game is incredible and I'll go as far as saying no Xbox exclusive will rate better this generation.

But the game is the same. The graphics and animations, sure, are new. And that's good. But if everything that makes it a game is the same, it's not a new game. It doesn't make it great, and if people feel like paying for the same game multiple times I get that - I bought kotor 3 times, civ iv three or four times, fallout three times, etc. Just be honest about that and enjoy that it's a great game.

The few main characters looks okay, most noch looks not very good.

I mean that's like every iteration of assassin's Creed and call of duty every year. The core gameplay is virtually the same but just looks different no? Do we call those old games now too?

Bluepoint has updated the visuals to next gen while not taking away from what made the game great in the past, the core gameplay. They have also added some neat little features too to improve the gameplay further, like being able to store items on the fly unlike the old game where you would have to pick and choose items to drop when you're over burdened. It's certainly nothing like a simple patch like those "free" upgrades you are talking about. In their analysis, DF has even made a point to say the game is one of the finest launch games EVER. It looks and feels like a title that came out later in the generation because it is so refined.
