My goodness. This thread for the past 15-20+ pages has been several people talking in a loop. I feel like I could jump from any random page to another and not realize that I had skipped 7 pages.
What's really interesting is why Time would include PS5 to the list.Pretty interesting that Time includes the PS5 and XSS in their list but excludes the XSX? That's weird.

At the lower bounds, PS5 is still rendering 60% more pixels than XSX at the cost of a 5-9% reduction in performance in the min fps (5th & 1st percentile).

It also broke the living f*** out of autosave, manual save and fast travel.
Once Sony announced a $399 digital version of a true next gen system it kind of made a $299 heavily gimped digital version of a next gen console seem like less of a deal. It was smart of Sony to offer the option and probably wasn't something MS expected.
Do you think it's a good idea to make "the worlds most powerful console" but use all encompassing dev tools instead of something made specifically for that piece of hardware? They seem to be focus on direct x/windows stuff and not the actual xbox brand, the GDK is designed for last gen, new gen and PC so how is any dev supposed to get the most out of a specific piece of hardware without putting a ton of extra work in? how likely are they to do that work when that console won't be the best seller? let alone having to work on two "new gen" consoles with differing capabilities.
Their tools will get better sure but so will Sony's, these things are never finished they continue to evolve and improve over time, people acting like devs didn't have any dev kits until June don't understand how this is done. They had dev kits before that they just weren't "finished" meaning feature complete yet, it's not rare at all to get "finished" dev kits in the summer before a new launch, it's actually how it pretty much always works but people keep trying to come up with excuses for MS for some reason.
MS once again botched a console launch, I don't know what it is about the people running the ship there but something needs to be done, as I said before Halo should not have been the only launch game they had planned and the fact that it looks like no other first party game will even be ready until 2022 doesn't help either.
Botched seems over the top considering retail is selling out as soon as they get them.
My PS5 at BB arrived a day early and is ready to pickup. So based upon a “botched” launch for Xbox I’m seriously wondering what game to pick up. Demons Souls doesn’t interest me and while Spider Man appears to be a great graphical showcase the single player shelf life is limited. I’m leaning towards Madden and hoping it’s next gen upgrade is promising while cross gen Cyberpunk should hopefully sing on it.

Miles is short, and it’s more of the same (not a bad thing). I would get it when it hits $19.99 if I were you.
Demon's Souls is a hard game but it's very rewarding and is the best looking console game out now. They've added features for more user convenience so I'd try it out if you got the physical edition of ps5. I sold mine already after beating it for 75-80% of what I paid for. Good game.
Spiderman Miles Morales is a bit over priced for what it offers. Depending on if you do side missions or not, it could take anywhere from 9-12 hours to complete. But again, if you have physical and buy the disk version, you can sell it after to recuperate most of the cost. I beat it in about 9-10 hours and I rarely did side missions.
Yes, those animations and the way the characters interact with the environment is purely next gen, just look at these running animations, you can just feel the way his feet touches the ground and interact with the different angles of the ground.
Based on my time with the new consoles, I still feel like both could have delayed launching to put out a more polished product.
Eh. For me, I love having my upgraded games. Ass Creed Valhalla really is awesome vs last gen. Some features arent working right, but that's secondary. It is still faster and better than what i had, and they'll fix it eventually. The silicone would still be the same so let me have it now.
Had no problems apart from one crash on Black Ops. Saying that my cousin has had a lot of problems, crashing on many games. He wants to send it back but as he can’t get a replacement for a while he’s going to soldier on until he can swap it on the same day.
I've been enjoying my time too other than the first day I got it where had to rebuild my database once and Demon's Souls crashed once. Been turning on the console every day since launch to get some gaming in.
