Horizon will outsell Halo you can thank gamepass for making sure of that but even without it they'd have been close, HZD sold over 10 million copies on PS4 alone and close to a million more on PC. I don't think Halo 5 got anywhere near that and it came out a year and a half before HZD did and Game pass wasn't a thing yet. Some will say "but it was the biggest launch in Halo history" yeah in dollars and that's because they had Halo 5 xbox one bundles that were $500 so each one of those were counted as well as halo themed controllers etc. Halo isn't as popular as it used to be, it's still a big deal don't get me wrong but it's not what it once was.
I will play Halo multiplayer for a good couple of years. Titanfall and Rocket League are the the only games this past gen that held my interest for that long.
GamePass will definitely hurt Halo Infinite sales. GP might help in certain instances, like otherwise unknown indies, but not for MS first party.
How many games attempt to offer the package Halo strives for? COD and Battlefield come kinda close with campaign and multiplayer. Sony barely tries on their end. Last of Us 2 comes to mind and they broke it up into 2 games.

Multiplayer is free so you don't need to buy the game.
When you buy Halo Infinite its for the campaign.
Do you think the campaign will come remotely close to the quality (review scores)TLOU2 or Horizon FW, ha!

Halo Infinite is NOT the big title XSX needs.
Only really matters if they nail it which Bungie did and 343 has yet to.
With the release of HZFB's gameplay trailer, seems like the console war has ramped up. People getting fired up on social media it's hilarious.
My internet data is more valuable to me than downloading Horizon. Free is not cheap enough for me. So I don’t really care how the PlayStation dominated media scores a game. Look at Returnal….a game with glowing reviews and a game breaking save system that is barely mentioned.

exclusives, like Horizon, usually excel in both.
It's about MP, not SP.
It's about potential sales.
It's about the potential number of hours that will be played in Halo Infinite.
It's about how Halo is a bigger name / franchise.
It's all about Halo > *.

Let's not beat around the bush: both sets of fanboys are just as trashy. Right now though...as in countless times ad nauseum..Sony 1st party studios have made it glaringly obvious where the pools of talent thus far have coalesced.

I’m pumped for Forbidden West. The better it looks the more it will push other games in development for Sony and MS.
There is a clear generational gap between Horizon & last year's Halo revealed video. When the games switch, the contrast is stark!
The details & lighting in Halo look flat like a pancake, while details are well... detailed in Horizon & lighting is rich. I am not sure if there is RT, but man, does it look good.
We shall see again how new footage(s) of halo look & compare.

What's that have to do with anything? Halo has had single player and multiplayer from the start a lot of games do that. Has any Halo game come close to offering a single player campaign that comes anywhere near TLOU2? NOPE, Halo's single player campaigns are generally around 8 hours with the original coming around 10 that's nowhere near the scale of the story being told in TLOU2 which takes between 25-30 hours on average and up to 40 hours for people who do all of the exploring etc.
I'd also point out that most games that offer single player and multiplayer generally take the MP maps from the single player portion of the game. and adapt them for MP they don't go and rebuild everything from scratch.

For Halo to be Halo everything has to be a home run. PlayStation has never delivered on a first party package that Halo strives to be. It’s huge shoes to fill that even 343 struggles to achieve but the ambition is there. Meanwhile Sony does a AAA fire and forget campaign and that’s considered a gold standard.
I know right. Alloy is the clear victor.
