Played another like 5 matches.

Getting the hang of things.

biggest thing sticking out is the sound. Just sounds very muted for a battlefield game.

I also think they need like 2 more tanks, AA, jets, transport, attack hello, etc per side. This map is suppose to be one of the smaller ones. If this is the standard amount of vehicles, I think that will be a problem.

I know you probably tried lt on the soundbar but how did you find it muted? Was something louder then the rest of the game? When I played explosions shuddered the room and gunfire had a big punch to it as well as vehicles passing by etc, I actually thought it was a big plus for me, today I'll be able to take off my nostalgia goggles and have a proper feel, but besides the glitches it's a day one certainty.

I use a headset with Dolby Atmos enabled. The sound effects sound muffled. I played Battlefield 4 awhile ago and it sounded crystal clear by comparison.

The sound does seem off, but I can't say how exactly. The old games had such good sound I think this is just lacking that. The old games had that *snap* of a bullet going by your head which was amazing. BF4 sounded like the movie Blackhawk Down which was supposed to be really accurate as far as the sounds.

I'm still kind of surprised at all the negativity around this. Assuming most of the bugs have been fixed, they seem pretty minor and the build is months old. Bf games have released in a much, much worse state than this beta.

I've already had some cool BF moments and I haven't even played much. Took down a tank with a rocket and shot down a heli. The new system is being blasted for some reason, but I like that I can pick my gun and then pick my gear to fill a class. I don't have to use a gimped gun to be an engineer.

It doesn’t have the punch I remember from BF4 and the gold standard BFBC2.
Even shooting in doors doesn’t have that crazy punch you would expect from being in doors with the bullet sound bouncing off the walls er .
The sound reminds me of pre CoD MW 2019. Very tin sounding.

Can't say I noticed anything wrong with the audio (PC) when I played, but it was also only for 15 minutes or so and I wasn't really in a huge battle at any point.

I haven't noticed any issues using the Xbox Wireless Headset with the Dolby Atmos app / codec with no extra "settings' or equalizer adjustments on, seems pretty in line with what BF5 sounded like. I haven't looked at the in game settings to see what adjustments can be made for the demo for audio yet, you'd assume the finished product will have all the options that past games have had.

I'd have to download that eyesore bf4 again to check against it but I agree the audio just feels standard battlefield?

Really wish they would have just kept classes. BF4 had it perfectly down, why mess with a winning formula?
Very little about this feels like a step forward. Just a lot of really questionable design decisions.

The total package should be pretty fun but its a disappointing beta.

Part of me loves that you can set a character up how ever you like, but it is problematic that virtually no one else is running with ammo, health, or repair tools at the moment.

That said, it's also incredible for big vehicle fans that you can go entire rounds without dying once and rack up 30 kills and capture dozens of points because demo people are playing this like it's an infantry only game where K/D matters. Gotta assume that will change at launch when servers are full of real Battlefield people who play the objective and prioritize roles, and not demo casuals or fair weather "fans".

I think the new system will allow people to be more useful. They should have just kept the classes based on gadgets and let people pick whatever gun for each class. There's no way to know what your teammates might be running.

For the final game you'll see a lot more engineers. The fact that I can run the assault gun and then pick gadgets to help my team, that will open things up.

The issue is always spawning with the wrong thing. Spawn with the anti tank rocket and you'll get swarmed by aircraft. Pick the AA rocket, and you'll have tanks all over you.

The one thing I like is your health recovers eventually. You still have to back out of the fight, but if you don't find a medic, it comes back on its own. Not sure ammo does the same thing. Having a medic is still better, but not required. I did find myself constantly running out of ammo though.

Medic got the massive shaft currently

I didn't realize, but LevelCap was saying in his recent video that if you change ammo types using the mod system, it portions off the ammo you have. If you run out, you have to remember to go into the mod system and switch to another type. KInd of a weird setup most people are likely unaware of.

I still have no idea how revive works. I know you can revive squadmates. Apparently the last specialist has like a healing gun? I haven't played around.

The health regen really helps though. It isn't fast like COD, but if you take yourself out of the fight for a minute you can heal and not need to search all over for a medic. The medic isn't going to be nearly as important, and you can still dump health crates nearby and really help out the team.

I still haven't forgiven them for removing the dedicated Anti Tank class. That was my love back in BF2.

On console its hold Square/X but it sucks. Its slow and its less forgiving in terms of "aim".

And trying to heal your teammates who are running away also feels s***ty. Ends up being used to heal yourself or just pick a different specialist. It desperately needs changes.

Revive is fine.

The heal gun gadget is garbage. Would rather the medic crate was the gadget.

Its hard enough to convince people to revive. Anything that makes it harder is going to discourage it. Its bad.

I think I would prefer the gadget be med packs you throw to people. Yeah it looks stupid when they lock on to people but at least it works.
