Its hard enough to convince people to revive. Anything that makes it harder is going to discourage it. Its bad.

I think I would prefer the gadget be med packs you throw to people. Yeah it looks stupid when they lock on to people but at least it works.
Most are terrible at being a medic anyway, this makes no difference to that. The dedicated medic will be just fine. I racked up alot of points just being a medic in the beta.

Those small health packs would be great, but they aren't in the game. Atleast if the med crate is the gadget you could also use the ammo crate to fill out your support.

I still have to try the beta out for myself but from a lot of impressions I've been reading here and on Neogaf it sounds like DICE has forgotten what makes BF special. The player caused environmental destruction is a big thing to a lot of BF fans and it sounds like this beta has less of that than the last couple of games which were already cutting back on it.

It's pretty much the same as the last couple, you can blow holes in buildings, fully destroy smaller ones, but the particle and debris destruction is great.

Two of my friends SeriesX downloaded the Xbox one version by default so stupid.

Guess smart delivery doesn't extend to betas.

I played it tonight, it just doesn't feel right to me. Nothing has any weight to it, I went and played some bad company 2 after and even at 30fps it still has a better feel lol its not as smooth but it still feels weightier and there is more destruction in that game than what I played here. I know it's a beta though so things aren't all going to be great but I played I believe it was 3 rounds and didn't get a single kill and whoever decided that grenade should have to be selected and then a trigger pulled instead of just keeping it on a shoulder button is a moron lol.

Graphically it's nothing special either, it's fine but it's not a standout the way BF games usually are.

I think the grenade change is good. Grenade spam has always been an issue in BF. This change could help lessen that. I know in my games during the beta I didn't encounter G spam once.

I never got anyone with a grenade when playing last night either lol didn't see anyone else do it near me, they only give you two so how much spamming can you really do? I know people with the ammo packs can replenish it but you need to be near someone who has that.

So 4 looks better, got it.
Artistically and audibly BF4 is better, way better. I prefer the gritty pallet it has over the cartoonish one 2042 has going on. 2042's sound effects lack reverberation.

Orbital being one of the smaller maps is depressing, it's already too big and too boring

It'll be interesting to see how the bigger maps will play. Orbital is a pretty big map as it is.

My first game I spawn up and start running. The closest point to me was over 600m away. The farthest was close to 900m. I spent an inordinate amount of time running. First match, so I was thinking about vehicles. TOO BIG.

When will people realize that bigger isn't always better. Later matches when I figured out what was going on I was doing pretty well, but I felt like I had no appreciable effect on the end result of the game. Even if you are running a squad and you are kicking butt and taking names, your win or loss is up to what teammates the match making God's gave you. Even in older battlefields with 64 players, I still felt like I could make a difference in the end result, but not in this game.

I can't image how sucky the larger maps will be

I played some bad company this morning and yea it was pretty rough, couldn't find the guns that pack a punch? Maybe I need to play more or look at some videos but it just seemed like you could destroy houses etc and not major structures in line with all other battlefields?

Bf4 was a different story, it looks so much better on my C1 not as fuzzy and blurry, sound design was also excellent as well as vehicle control, the beta does have some great sounding effects but sometimes it seems like there's missing oomph to some of the explosions.

People thought Vanguard was bad, lol
Lolz thinking vanguard isn't.

Those games were good years ago but as I said before they have evolved from them.

There's a lot of things to criticize about this game, but the "they're copying COD" is a bad take. The gun mechanics have been going downhill since BF1. Making extremely long time to kill values doesn't make the game take more skill. You can tell that it is getting like Halo games where the "community" is really different based on what game they jumped in.

In BF1/V, there was almost no long range combat. Nothing hit hard enough to kill people fast enough to where people couldn't just run to cover and heal.

The gun play in this game are way better than those games without going full COD.

Not really a bad take at all. Especially when it is so obvious.

From launch up to the Pacific there was plenty of long range action in BF5. Then they f***ed it. What is funny is you are acting like they wont do that again.

I don't hate 2042. It has potential. But the beta was rough around the edges. I also don't trust dice after BFV and the whole TTK fiasco. if the TTK is the same at launch and we don't get another TTK fight before christmas I would be more inclined to purchase it.

I'm also concerned about the larger maps.

Played some BF4 today.

Sound design is way better imo. When you fire a gun, it sounds like you are firing a gun. It is loud, it echos, the bullets whizzing by and crack of a bullet is fantastic. Explosions sound better. Firing a gun indoors has the sound get louder and bounce off the walls.

The actual designated classes made the game feel more tactical and team oriented.

Bullets also felt like they traveled faster? Especially using a sniper rifle?

Really hope 2042 has a hardcore mode to remove as much info from the hud is possible. It is too convoluted.

I would be okay with a 4k update or remaster of BF4 as of right now post beta.

I don't feel the map size should matter that much? This map is roughly the same size as the Narvik map and seems way smaller then say giants of Karelia or even golmud, and there's twice as many players, I rarely had a dull moment in the beta there were always players at all the objectives.

Yea I did like the sound design of 4 with the bullets whizzing by and the explosions and vehicles, however the M5A3 in the beta sounded and felt the best for me, thumpy bass from every shot.

Agree with the HUD, however hopefully they just scaled back the options because it's a beta, if I can't fiddle with the HUD opacity I'll be pissed.

Orbital is 3-4 times the size of Narvik
