The combat was more fun in the first 2 games..
Yeah this is the worst the combat has been, I’d be surprised if there was any disagreement on that front.

The game focus is more on being an interactive movie with detective elements. Well at least 10 hours in that’s the case, it could change.

Combat is fine, not sure what it *should* be instead...

There's not much of it, but that's fine with me.

I think that's pretty much the whole game.

Well...QB had pretty great combat, the only problem was that all the powers you got came fairly late.
Control had good combat, though slightly worse than QB imo.
AW2, at the point I am in the game, is much worse... but this is more survival horror and as such shouldn't be as nimble... at least I think it shouldn't.. idk, it's worse than the two latest releases though.
Still... it's a great game imo, not a 10 by any stretch, but at least a 8.5 and a goty contender for me.

I think I agree with the combat in Quantum Error Break being better than Control. Both games are great. I haven't gotten to AW2 yet. Wrapping up American Nightmare first.

I 100$ love the music between the chapters. I guess that is one way to artificially increase the play time of the game. But I don't care, because it is awesome.

Can you listen to them all when the game is done?

You can listen to them in the mind place

I found controls combat a lot of fun. Was just the level design and story that missed the mark for me.

The static, or glimmer/glitter that comes and goes in black areas (mostly in town when playing as Saga is annoying af. Read somewhere that it's the temporal anti aliasing or something like that that's the culprit. I even tested it out on my TV since I thought it might be something wrong with the hdmi handshake between my projector and the console, but it's still there.
Quality mode on xsx and xss

It's a visual glitch . I haven't seen it on the PC version.

I'm not loving the combat either, which is a bummer. I've never liked games with bullet sponge enemies, and even the most basic enemies in this game seem to take at least 3x the amount of ammo they did in the original Alan Wake, American Nightmare, or Control.

I guess if bullet sponge enemies is their idea of "survival horror", I don't like survival horror. Probably going to drop the difficulty to easy, Kvally style, as the story and other elements of the game are awesome.

I've started doing this as well when I find out if the enemies are just more bullet spongey. IRL it doesn't take that many bullets to take someone down why would I need to fire 10 bullets at someone's head to kill them?
