I could a damn about resolution and fps.
To put things in perspective, I'm sitting in a hospital cause my baby girl is very sick. Thats what i find important to me.
All this other stuff is a moot point right now. I have a X1 and enjoy it immensely. If I had a PS4 I'd say the same thing.

Okay. Either way, all we know is that the Xbox One software sales sold 4.8 million in the US, worldwide unknown. Sony sold 4.2 million in the US and 9.7 million worldwide.
Is that sold thru or shipped? There's been some confusion about what "sold" means, lately.

That goes both ways. people belittling PS3 for the same reasons are now defending it and saying it doesn't matter. Gamers, fooking shallow, fickle SOB's without an ounce of integrity .
Was the Walking Dead episodes that received GOTY by spike( that's what me and friends wager we all lost last year) 1080p 60fps?

Anyway, just to correct you. Its true some people are buthurt due to this, but just becuase we are discussing & critising something doesn't mean we cannot enjoy it.
I can complain about the coffee machine in the office being too loud. This does not mean I cannot enjoy a coffee brewed from it. I submitted my complain, they got it fix. Win win for me.
Able to see negativities & hoping (if better the power) to something to be better is part of being human; the desire to see improvements. Its why we are not still living in caves. Imagine if our ancestors said, "we should enjoy living in cave, & not worry about lack of security, & expose to elements."
I do not know why people have this thinking. I have made some negative points on some of my favorite games (like too much yellow in Deus Ex), but I still enjoy the game a lot.
If we do not complain, there will still be DRM, people do not complain, SOny would not improve the DS3, for instance.
Is resolution & FPS the most important? No, but they do enhance the game experience. The same reason you wanted to go to a good cinema, with good sound system & clear screening. It doesn't make a poor film better, but it does enhance the cinematic experience of a good film.
A lot of people make it sound like Gameplay & visual/smoothness are like a pizza, more gameplay means less visual, when its completely not true. You can have good game play with great visuals.
New hardware comes with new expectation for visuals (that has been the expectation since console gaming begin). Point being, at the moment, the hardware falling short of expectation. To add insult to injury. MS knew this, gamers knew this, & cried for them to beef up the spec, but fall on deaf ears.
Now the cans of worms have been opened, imagine if we all keep our mouth shut, MS executives will still be in their Ivory tower & thinking we are happy about hardware, & will not bother to take any action.
Some of the level of complain are childish, small goes to some of the defence, but the rant is valid, & this NEED to be heard by MS.
MS need to hear that a lot of fans are angry that they dropped the ball, when they release a subpar hardware.

My point is starseeker is that there is more important things in life than to have thread upon thread of resolution issues. This whole sight is just one big bitchfest and quite frankly its becoming a downer.

While you do have a point, there was no need to be a Dick about it. A bit odd to think that some people might be trying to "escape sh1t" in their lives, by going to a discussion board to stir more up (2nd sentence alludes to your point, not you).
Was I being dick ? I wasn't trying to be. Just calls it as I sees it.
and the s*** stirring is more of a separate matter. A lot of the discussion taking place isn't really bitching at all, but simple discussion about the pros and cons, and peoples personal opinion on the difference it makes them, but it seems a lot of folk like to brand all the negativity as bitching, which is unfair.
I think it would help if we all just adopted this new rating scale and stopped bulls***ting ourselves that it is anything else. It would also help publishers as they would no longer need to invest in the mundane stuff like gameplay, innovation or story and could instead focus every resources available on the important stuff. It would also make for much more objective reviews across the board so it would be easier on the 'game journalist' too.

Gamers have always been like that, though. I remember the debates about how many polygons a machine could push, or in the 16 bit days, how many sprites or how many colours could be displayed on screen at once. I think the SNES did 512 from a palette of 32,000, while the Genesis was something like 86 colours at onces from a palette of 8000 or something, yet they were both able to run pretty similar versions of Street Fighter 2.
Anyway, then it was FLOPS, these days it's resolution. All stuff that doesn't really make a huge difference when you start comparing whether the best game on console A is better than the best game on console B. Same s***, different gen.

Exactly. People will always be comparing consoles, regardless of FLOPS, power, hardware, functionality, shape, size, heat levels, noise levels etc.
It is because people complained that the Xbox One is now better than what MS initially announced. Can share physical games again, no more online always, CPU speed boost etc. If noone cares or posts about anything, would there be improvements? Probably, but not as much as we would like.
I really think the only ones who care are 1 virgins 2 people who haven't got any in a while, and 3 people still living at home with their parents.
The issue is HD is expectation for a game console launch in late 2013. My movies & TV program runs at 1080p, why would I wanted my 60 buck next gen game to run sub HD?

expectation: A car release in 2014 should have air condition, & power windows as standard. A next gen game should be full HD
Quality: Car handling is super, looks amazing, material of interior use is high end, seats are comfy. Gameplay is good, voice acting is top notch. Graphics are out of the world.
Just because you have the most beautiful car in the world, doesn't mean I can accept doesn't come with power windows.
I give another analogy.

I can give at least a dozen more examples, but I think you guys get my point.
