What was with the shot of Thanos at the end of Avengers then? Seems silly for him to put that in without plans to use Thanos in Avengers 2.Joss himself stated about a month ago that he never meant to put Thanos in Avengers II. Many fans quickly assumed that Thanos might be ultimate the cause of everything being revealed in Avengers 3. So who knows.
I have absolutely no idea of who or what Ultron is and the skills or powers he possesses, but Joss Whedon seems to have a great grasp of the material and I'm sure he has good reason to use Ultron as the antagonist of this movie. What was with the shot of Thanos at the end of Avengers then? Apparently he is changing up the origin story, the theory is that they might have Jarvis go rogueUltron was created by Henry Pym (also known as Ant-Man). I'm curious as to see how Joss handle the origin story about Ultron since he is not including Ant-Man in the Avengers 2.
Don't create artificially intelligent indestructible robots. You're gonna have a bad time.
Technically Ultron makes himself indestructible by making it's shell out of vibranium! But vibranium doesn't protect your insides from being exposed to 30G+!

I wish so bad Whedon could do a movie with Dr. Doom. Fantastic Four f***ed that up so badly.
Thanos is apparently the "mastermind" of the plot in Guardians of the Galaxy.
If that's true then they're taking a big risk here. Using an entire Avenger's movie to try and push Guardians of the Galaxy. I think Marvel might be overestimating it's properties. We'll see I guess.
While still more well-known than Guardians of the Galaxy, Iron Man was not on the Superman/Batman/Spiderman level, as far as the non-comic reading public was concerned, especially outside of the US. But simply because it was a good film, it became a massive cultural phenomenon. And that's not an exaggeration. It might be hard for American males who grew up in the 70's, 80's or 90's to imagine, but Iron Man and The Avengers had zero public awareness at all, at all, at all in China. Thor and Captain America weren't very big hits, but everything Iron Man has been in, has been absolutely massive. They had Iron Man branded advertising for goddamn earthmoving and construction equipment. Large national clothing brands (think Hollister) had branded clothing to tie in with the sequels. It's probably the biggest franchise of the past 10 years, and even now, a lot of people don't even know Iron Man existed before 2009 or whatever.Well it as a post-credits thing, they weren't exactly using it to push Guardians film. But I kinda agree about them over estimating some of it's properties. I'm a fairly big Marvel fan, read a lot of their comics (admittedly mostly X-Men), and know a fair bit about their other stuff. Not saying I'm an expert or anything, but I had never heard of the Guardians of the Galaxy stuff till the film announcement. They're also making an Ant-Man film I think? I can think of many more characters they could use... *cough* Deadpool *cough*
Iron Man made RDJ's career.Thing about that though is that Iron Man became a hit partly because of it's star power. Star power can help make any movie become a franchise. I mean, if they opted to take Iron Man out of the Avengers and just have the rest of the cast, it would not be as big a movie in my opinion. RDJ is one of the biggest stars in the world today, arguably the biggest if you take into account all the box office success he's continued to have.
5? more like 40+, plus a few TV shows like Ally McBeal. RDJ was a huge actor in the late 80's and 90's, had some big stuff kinda in the 00's too. He dropped from relevance when started getting into the news for drugs and s***, he pulled Charlie Sheen-esque s***. That's what pretty much killed his career, Iron Man rebooted it.Iron Man made RDJ's career.
He had one before, but it was pretty much dead. Look up the 5 films he made before Iron Man. How big were they? Was he the star? How much did he make?
No doubting he owns Stark and he's a great actor, but his name wasn't putting asses in seats back then like it does now.
