Avengers: Age Of Ultron

Actually, for a long time I just didn't think Thor could be done at all. I thought Asgard and everything was to far fetched to dump on casual audiences not familiar with the comic. I'm amazed it's worked out this well.
To be fair, I think Lord of the Rings helped pave the way for modern fantasy films in terms of getting general audiences seeing far fetched plots and settings. Plus, Viking culture has always had a measure of popularity in the modern world. Just look at the Vikings show on History Channel. It's first season turned out very successful. People have interest in that culture. Even if it's in the form of a super hero movie. It's kinda like the Greek gods and the mythology around them.

Alan Moore Finds Success of The Avengers "Alarming"

"I haven't read any superhero comics since I finished with Watchmen,” the writer told The Guardian while promoting his latest work, Fashion Beast. “I hate superheroes. I think they're abominations. They don't mean what they used to mean. They were originally in the hands of writers who would actively expand the imagination of their nine-to-13-year-old audience. That was completely what they were meant to do and they were doing it excellently

“This is a significant rump of the superhero-addicted, mainstream-addicted audience. I don't think the superhero stands for anything good. I think it's a rather alarming sign if we've got audiences of adults going to see the Avengers movie and delighting in concepts and characters meant to entertain the 12-year-old boys of the 1950s."

What the...?

I thought the success of The Avengers was far more welcome than the success of Avatar. *shudder*

Looks like War Machine will be in Age of Ultron!!

IGN: "It has been confirmed by HitFix that Rhodes "has a key role in the conflict with Ultron." The site also adds that "one thing you can count on is that at the end of Avengers: Age Of Ultron, the group that calls themselves The Avengers isn't going to be the same group we saw eating shwarma together at the end of the first film."

Interesting. A lot of actions, I'll bet!! I love to see Iron Man and War Machine fight against Ultron!!

f*** Alan Moore. I still enjoy slingshots, BB guns and milkshakes. I'm also a grown man who pays rent, bills and taxes. Why can't I have juvenile escapism?

This has not been confirmed by Marvel, but it does come from Latino Review so it’s solid. According to the site’s scoop-master El Mayimbe, “there is a breakdown circulating in Hollywood where Marvel is looking for a PHYSICALLY IMPOSING MAN, age range 40-50, Caucasian, for a supporting role.” And that role is for… Baron von Strucker!

I think Marvel can probably get actors at bargain basement prices now, because overall it seems like being in Marvel films gives career boosts to both established and less famous actors. It doesn't seem to have negatively affected anyone in terms of typecasting.

Scarlett Johansson Talks Avengers: Age of Ultron:

"Joss [Whedon], again, is back, wrote the script, and is directing," Johansson said. "I think the script is dark and it’s dry, it’s got this amazing one-liner, glass-cutting sense of humor. Obviously the script is very cerebral. It doesn’t lose that exciting comic book aspect that people enjoyed in the first film, but it’s smart and it feels like the next installment. It doesn’t feel like a rehashing, it feels like these characters are moving forward, plotlines are moving forward. It’s deep and I think that’s why people really respond to the Marvel universe, because the films are fun and exciting and have all that flashy stuff, but there’s a gravity to them. People can expect that gravity this time around.”

Let the hype begins!!! :bang:

Marvel and DC comic superhero movies seems to be successful no matter how bad or good the movie actually is I can understand why almost every A or B list actor is chomping at the bit to play one

Mark Ruffalo has been talking about the tone of the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Speaking to MTV (via The Hollywood Reporter), Ruffalo said that Joss Whedon's sequel will be "I would say that it's better, it's cooler, it's more awesomer."

Nothing stokes the hype machine quite like a double comparative. But Ruffalo also went on to tease the tone of the film, saying it's "a little bit darker [than The Avengers], but also really has Joss Whedon's incredibly, witty and sly sense of humour."

The Dark World’s Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost to Write Thor 3!

... today the first rumblings of Thor 3 are also happening, with news breaking about a writing team for the Thunder God’s return.Variety reports that Marvel has brought in Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost to co-write the follow-up to Thor: The Dark World. There’s no word on plot details yet for this one, of course, as we probably need to see how things shake out in Avengers: Age of Ultron first anyway.

Marvel is definitely on the ball.

I think they won't do Thanos yet until they introduce all the infinity jewels for the Infinity Gauntlet that Thanos wil use. Ultron will be a good wy to introduce the remaining jewels

Yup. My impression of the direction now. Especially with the post-credits scene in Thor: Dark World.

"Jewels" will be found before we see Thanos on Earth.

Avengers: Age of Ultron Recruits Paul Bettany As The Vision

Paul Bettany, the British actor best known to comic book fans for voicing Tony Stark’s J.A.R.V.I.S. robot butler/sidekick system, will take on the role of The Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron, The Daily Mail reports.

That certainly lends credence to fan theories that Tony Stark would be behind both The Vision and Ultron, and/or that Ultron may be a corrupted version of J.A.R.V.I.S.

In the comics, The Vision was first introduced to The Avengers as a tool of Ultron before he became a hero instead, ultimately taking on the consciousness of the then-dead Wonder Man and becoming romantically entangled with the Scarlet Witch, who will be played by Elizabeth Olsen in the upcoming star-studded sequel.

Link. Not 100% confirmed by Marvel but interesting news...

Seems to me that the Vision has similar powers as Martian Manhunter. :) I do know that they're extremely strong.

I've really been enjoying Avengers A.I. as a series, and it's mostly because Vision is amazing/powerful/awesome.

Wonder how they're going to play this off for the movie? We've known for a while that Ultron isn't going to be tied to Ant-Man but more likely Tony Stark, so I'm guessing that JARVIS will have something to do with Ultron's creation (or Stark going mad with rogue AIs or something).

Can't wait.

My money's on Tony Stark after what happened in Iron Man 3. I have a feeling that the entire Avengers will going to blame on Tony for creating something so dangerous (Ultron).

Yup. Easy path with Stark having PTSD and stuff in IM3. Goes looney, creates guardian AI, AI gets loose...
