Batman: Arkham Origins Anyone?

Sharky I'm playing on PS3. No problems here. I hope I don't get one of the reported bugs.

You know I've read about some people having problems with some of the map being reused again but it's not a problem for me. I don't mind it at all. I think some of Gotham should be the same.

Yeah, PC. I've lost some progress a couple times (thankfully no fully corrupt save file) and a couple other bothersome bugs, but nothing real major. I've been reluctant to play it until the issues are at least mostly sorted out.

Besides, when I build my new PC this month it'll be able to max the game @ 1080p 60fps and look stunning, so I don't wanna burn out on it before then.

I'm playing on PC too and haven't come across any major bugs yet. There was some serious FPS issues when I first met Gordan's daughter, but that is it, and wasn't a big deal as it wasn't in actual game play. Other than that it has ran pretty smoothly. A little pop in here and there but I think that is more to do with my antique DDR2 RAM.

Just got into a major bug. When I tried to enter the Riddler's Lair, the game sort of froze. I pressed the guide button, exited out, and next thing I know it's loading to a game over screen with Black Mask. Now I can't go into certain areas or else I'll fall through the entire world. Including Riddler's Lair. Strange, yet funny stuff.

Maybe that's actual game play .. The Riddler is quite a shady character.

I'm watching some of the walkthrough vids on youtube, it looks a little too similar to arkham city to me.

That's what I felt, played a bit of it at a friend's on 360...well he did most of the playing I mostly watched. I just didn't have any urge to play. I will say this, I saw the screenshots over in the screenshot thread on GAF. The difference between PS3/360 and PC version is f***ing ridiculous; game looks absolutely gorgeous on PC.

God damn, what an amazing second half and those boss battles were just awesome. Especially against Firefly. Arkham Origins is an official thumbs up from me. Hugely recommended. Just finished the game and it definitely left a positive mark on myself. Only got a little bit of Riddler collectibles left. Don't think I'll be doing challenges, but man, such a good game.

Cool, this is one of the games I bought at Target for their buy 2 get one free sale.

Post storyline, the game still has interesting content that I want to hunt down. Definitely don't mind hunting down the remaining Riddler extortion data. The audio files you get to listen to are pretty interesting conversations. Although I'm slightly disappointed with the initial idea for the final Most Wanted mission. You have to essentially capture 20 escaped prisoners, but I haven't done any yet, so they might surprise me. Wanted to maybe have a mission against Calendar Man and perhaps they'll slump him together with the rest of the bunch. Also, the song Joker sung in the credits was disturbing and cool. That's been my favorite addition to his character in these Arkham games. It gives him an even creepier aura to him.

Just finished the last Most Wanted side quest which I consider to be part of the "main beef" of Origins. I enjoyed it, they made it fun but it lacks a bit of originality and I didn't like that one of the Most Wanted quests revolved around capturing escape Blackgate inmates. I was hoping for a Calendar Killer bit myself. I get that this is the "spin-off prequel" so to speak, and that they made a new MP, but it would've been nice if they at least did something different and allowed us to maybe pilot a vehicle every now and then. That would've been advancement enough for me as that's been the missing piece of the puzzle for so long. Another thing it lacks is great easter eggs. Asylum and City just brought it big time where Origins tends to reference itself and barely moves out of the Arkham universe. One last negative bit I'll say is that I wish they'd allow costumes much earlier. You can't equip any of it until you beat the game and that kinda blows when the new 52 costume is a bit cooler looking than the one he's wearing. I also kinda feel like they let themselves be too inspired by the Nolanverse. I felt like they were trying too hard to concentrate the energy of the movies a bit too much.

That said, I will say that Firefly is one of the best boss battles I've played on the xbox 360. It's really fantastic and it's a damn shame you only got to face one flying enemy. Would have loved a ManBat sidequest of some kind. Could be the next "horror-esque" portion of the next Batman, hopefully made by Rocksteady. I also liked that the collectibles feel a bit easier and faster to find. Enough of a head scratcher to keep me guessing and even looking up a wiki for help, but still maintaining 98% of finding everything on my own. The ending was interesting. They made a reference to the Suicide Squad (you can look it up on wiki) and it leaves me wondering if they'll be the main focus in the next Batman or if we'll be getting a whole new comic book based game with Deathstroke as the lead. It would make up for his embarrassingly short, but extremely memorable moment in the game.

One last thing, I wish they'd let us just go back to boss battles, like a scene selection or something of that nature. Partly because I want to earn achievements related to Deathstork and Lady Shiva, but also because some of these were just amazing.

Loved the main game. I downloaded the Initiation DLC but havent played it yet. AAnyone else get that?

I haven't touched any of the DLC. Honestly, I wish they'd at least release a boss rush mode of some kind. Just one boss fight after another would be awesome. Hell, I'd love it if they gave the option to simply revisist the boss fight. I really do love the one with Firefly. Easily up there as one of the best boss fights this entire gen.

I like the idea of boss rush mode. I'm about to get back into the game after just beating Torchlight.

Looking forward to it.

Just got my game key that came with my vid card....but still waiting on mobo. Can't wait to get everything up and running to play.

Makes sense to me at least. Especially for Origins. For some reason, the boss fights in this are just so much better and more memorable than the previous two. Maybe it's because of different devs or something, but Copperhead, Firefly, Deathstroke, Bane's trilogy of boss segments, etc. just made for one of the best experiences I had this gen for boss fights. Maybe it's just me and I'm just over embellishing, but I'd recommend Origins based on the boss fights alone.

Shame they couldn't delay the game a bit longer or started working on a X1/PS4 version early since the PC screenshots really do look boss. Although, I was pretty pleased overall with the graphics on the 360 version. Especially the snow. I spent about five minutes walking around it and seeing Batman interact with all that white goodness.

Completed the game

I loved the story and I do think I like it more than the other two games. The only thing that keeps me from putting it over the top is because it isn't as polished as the Rocksteady games. Some of the performance issues took me out of the experience a lot.

I have the Steam code for buying my GTX 780 and since I already own the game I'd like to part with this code for super cheap.

So if anyone is interested I'll be asking $20 in Steam fund for the code. Keep it in mind as I want to make sure the GPU works under stress (POST test was successful) before I scratch off the card. I'll be finalizing the build and testing tomorrow afternoon and will sell the code starting Sunday morning.

And in case anyone may think "this is a scam" ask around, I've sold and given away a few games back when we were all @ TXB and everyone's always gone away happy.

The way it'll work is simple. You want the game, you either buy a $20 steam card and pass me the code (or gift me $20 if that's possible) and I'll give you the game code in return.

So how good/bad is this game? I'm thinking about grabbing it, as I'm on a bit of a Batman kick lately. Bought the Dark Knight Returns animated film on Blu-Ray, bought some new Batman trades, even ordered this.

You play the 1st two games? If not play those, if you have and enjoyed them you will most likely dig this game.

Yeah, played both of the previous games and had a blast. Is this one a noticeable step down in quality since Rocksteady wasn't behind it?

Definitely not as polished, but still a really good game. The story is very good and has some fun boss fights as well.
