Assault should go for the Model 10 Hunter shotgun. Even the starter Trench shotgun is decent but a shadow when compared to the Hunter. Then the rank 10 gun, Hellregiel, is probably the best gun in the game.
Support have a few decent ones. I liked the MG15 but the BAR is also very popular. I just unlocked the rank 10 yesterday and it's pretty beastly also.
Medic, all the guns are pretty decent but the Mondragon Storm seems to be a go to gun.
Sniper, the gweher 86(?) infantry is good and so are most of the bolt actions. The Henry martini rank 10 rifle is a 50 cal and it's fun to use as well.

  • Automatico M 1918 Storm
  • Model 10 A Shotgun( Slug version)
  • 12G Automatic Shotgun(Extended)
  • Hellriegel - The Class level 10 unlock.
Support
  • Madsen MG Storm
  • MG15 n.A Storm
  • BAR M1918 Trench
  • Huot - The Class level 10 unlock.

Haven't played much with the other 2 classes as of yet.

Would not agree with the slug version of the Model 10 at all. All the others are solid.
 
I haven't played a ton since the last balancing patch, but a lot more weapons seem viable now. I bounce around the various guns for each class and there isn't one that jumps out at me so far (I don't have any of the level 10 ones and I know the Hellreigel is a beast).

I think it comes down more to playstyle and personal preference.
 
Played two games last night and got a battlepack reward at the end of both, and then I got two puzzle pieces from those battlepacks :banana:

Also, does anybody know if there are Skins for Support class's Huot? I have yet to see one.

Yes I have one. It's called the veteran skin.

The Huot is actually growing on me. At first I was like meh but gave it another chance and I'm kinda liking it.

I love it. Loved it from the first moment I used it.

It lacks the stopping power of other support weapons, but it has better mobility and more normal handling. Which, for me, totally makes up for that lack of stopping power. Also, unlike some of the other level 10 guns, it's ammo count is pretty much perfect.

I think you mean the Gewehr 98. I mainly use this as my go to scout class rifle. I play scout pretty religiously on PC. It has the highest bullet velocity for all other rifles in the game which translates into less target leading. I use the infantry variant because that version has iron sights which I love and also less recoil. I haven't used the Martini Henry since the December nerf.

Agree with pretty much everything else you said though. For medic I tend to favor the Selbstalder more.

I wouldn't be a big fan of the scout overall but I think it's really because I couldn't settle on a weapon I liked. The SMLE Carbine (is that the one with the red cross hair sight?) was serving me very well last night. I think it's the first time I got 5 kills in one life as the scout.

Oh no.. how soon was your Live expiring? Mine was up in the next week or so and there was a deal on the dashboard for another year only $40.

My dashboard didn't show that deal :(. I know someone here mentioned it earlier, so I scrambled looking for it on my dash, but no luck :( Thanks though.

Mine was expiring in March.

Ah maybe you have to wait until a couple weeks before it expires before they offer it. Make MS sweat a little bit.

Well, if it does appear, and if the system lets me add it again, I will bite. It's easier to just do it on the dashboard. I don't think I have ever done it on the dashboard though. I usually pay $35-$45, never more.
 
Are there certain requirements that have to be met to receive a battlepack at the end of each match or does the game randomly select players? I don't understand how that works.
 
Is it just me or has this game got worse since Christmas? The quality and closeness of games seems to have dropped significantly.

I think it is random.
 
This is one of the only games that my group of friends has kept playing longer than a month. Love this game.
 
I'm still having a blast with the game. I just wish I had more time to play.

Of course after many months people are going to be a little bored of the maps and guns.

This is the time BF games get great though, fewer noobs/CODers playing and more people actually playing objectives and roles. (although on PS4 it is still common to see medics jumping over dead bodies and ignoring them). :)

Nothing like getting smoked and seeing that multiple medics are 15m away, 10, 5, 1, 7, 12, 20, gone... WTF?!!!

Don't even need to watch it to know it isn't dying. I play it all the time and don't see any indication that is dying.

The game is awesome, better than the s*** Battlefield 3 & 4. My only issues are the f***ing amount of snipers per game and players not playing their rolls. Medics sitting right on top of you and they don;t revive or heal is annoying as f***.

Yeah no kidding. I kinda wish they would implement some sort of penalty system for those Medics but I know it's impossible.
