I totally agree. I used to get stuck with 5 dps and I'd be the only support. You have almost zero chance of winning without a proper team setup. People still didn't like it and still don't.
I'm glad they stuck to their guns on that. It just shows that you can't force people into something, even if it is clearly better for them.
They've been trying to engineer people into team roles in BF since the start of the game. I remember in BF1942 you'd get half the team of allies sitting on the beach sniping and losing the match.
I really want people in BF to play as a team and not be selfish and stupid, but I've given up on trying.
I liked doing all 3. Playing the objective, getting high kills/good KDR, and doing my class role along the way. The BF games are so much fun when everyone is doing their part.
Well, there's multiple modes now. Ranked queue for fixed roles and ranked open queue for doing whatever you want. Then there's QuickPlay for just chill warm ups. You can do pretty much anything these days in that game.
Noone really takes the game seriously except in ranked role queues mainly.
As for Battlefield, I always played the support role too I believe. It's been a while.

Specialists, is that reffering to just cosmtic outfits or are they the enhanced class roles? If it is the latter then it is bad.
That tweet leads me to believe it's the enhanced class roles. Probably so they add updates for people to want to come back to those roles or whatever. I don't love it either.
Hope these aren't gimmicky. Also hope we get more over time aswell.
