So it's using the old dated 98 engine instead of the new engine?
I like camping, especially when it pisses people off and they rage on the mic and in the lobby and call me out. I just tell them I never rage over them running and gunning, so it's all good. From my limited experience, yes for the most part.
-The lighting is better so you don't get the super dark corners like in MW
-Ninja keeps your footsteps quieter, but most people are going to run ghost anyway
-The maps are a little big, so they don't always have obvious camping spots. I mean, camping is totally viable but you're probably not going to get tons of kills.
I was having the most success flanking cautiously. Of course hardly anyone knows the maps so it is too early to tell. The spawns flip a lot less so far, so things play a lot more predictably?
If the lag comp is as strong as it feels... it is probably a no buy for me. It could just be different skills, but it felt really strong. Like I could go down the list of players and tell you which ones I have a better connection than and not. There's always one guy that I can't get damage on without dying. I mean, can players be better than me? Sure, but to not even be able to get a shot off? Either they are super human fast or there's lag comp.
I actually like that and welcome it. Certain streaks shouldn't be unattainable. The other thing that needs changed is the scorestreaks. Dying doesn't reset your streaks, so the 2nd half of the match is streak spam. Going without death helps increase the rate, so you still need to be good to get longer streaks, but everyone is going to have spyplanes up in the game. Seeing higher streaks is still really common even though people aren't wrecking (at least in MW you can go after someone who is on a streak). The late game gets really campy and slow paced with everyone spamming.
I think they need to tone that stuff way down and focus more on the gunplay.

I'm not the type of player that would ever get their streak long enough for, let's say, a tactical nuke. There was a perk, I believe, that made streaks carryover when you get killed. Don't remember which game it was.I don't mind the concept, it just ends up filling the skies at the end. It makes ghost required as everyone is going to have a spyplane at the end.
Basically, they went to the opposite extreme was MW. In MW it was hard to get any streaks. In this, there are too many low level ones.
You can cancelI have no self control, and this game beta is available today on PS4 only if you pre-ordered it. I don't want the game for PS4, but I want to play it tonight.

Granted it is closed beta and a limited population, but the streamers (who are generally overly positive about the game since they make a living off it) are having major lag (lag comp) issues. It isn't like they hit a couple of lag spikes and bad matches. They hit it a lot and rarely had a good game.
Normally I take the clickbait of streamers with a bit of caution, but the same message keeps getting repeated a lot. I hear a lot about the "attacker advantage" which is basically lag compensation. I love a run and gun game, but the only reason for the moving target to have an advantage is lag. The moving target is laggier and takes less damage.
Wonder if they went back to not using dedicated servers?
I think they might be in the 24 player modes but last week they werent as a faze youtuber was lag switching the game and getting kills standing still. I took a screenshot of his ass doing it.Wonder if they went back to not using dedicated servers?
The beta is open on PS4. I gave it a try. I didn't hate it as much as I thought I would. The netcode didn't feel as bad as some were saying (those Youtubers don't understand that they are the only ones playing at 9am sometimes). That said there still seems to be a rusher advantage. You will start taking hits before you see someone on screen. It isn't awful, but it doesn't feel quite right.
Everything with the game feels like a step back. The animations feel so clunky after MW. I'm not sure how much of it is the netcode vs the animations. People get close to you and it feels janky in a lot of ways. I found myself just spraying and praying a lot.
Scorestreaks are just out of control. The 2nd half of the match is just scorestreak spam. People have to call in their spy planes at the same time because there are so many. I don't mind scorestreaks, but making them easy means that it is spam central at the end. You're easily going to have higher end streaks spamming your spawn in the late round.
Some positives:
-Spawning seems way way better so far. I never spawned in a spot I felt was bad. I was never miles from the action, but always had room to move. Granted, people might just not know the spawns well enough yet, but they feel logical.
-The gameplay has an old school Black Ops feel to it which isn't terrible. Feel like good aim is rewarded. The slightly longer time to kill actually works great. Guns are still deadly, but you have a small chance to beat a camper who tried to pre-aim you, where in MW you'd be insta-dead. (it could be the netcode though)
Right now I'll say I am not buying at launch with all the new games coming this fall, but when I see it on sale I'll probably grab it at some point. I feel like this could be a good year to skip.
Game is great. Wow I can't believe I just said this.Just played on PS4. It’s call of Duty through and through. No jet packs no wall running. Just good ol fashioned COD. I like it. Waiting now for the Xbox beta. Gotta use my Elite 2
You had me at good spawns and old school Black Ops feel.
Is the beta going to be free to play on XBox this week or do you have to preorder?
