Controller preference

I'd never thought I'd say this in a million years at this time last year, but I think the DS4 is my new favorite controller. I feel comfortable with both the One and DS4 controllers, but I feel the One controller jumped slightly backwards from the 360 and that the PS4 took a massive leap forward and slightly surpassed both the One and 360 controllers.

It's really close though, so the controller isn't really the deciding factor.

Yeah because online polls about video game anything never has bias.

Right....and a site that used to be called Team Xbox doesn't have bias either.

You do know what bias is, right?

  1. cause to feel or show inclination or prejudice for or against someone or something

So Val was right, most polls show that gamers have an inclination "for" the PS4 controller. You can call it bias, but that's life.

I don't see why people would have a hard time believing that most next gen gamers would prefer the PS4 controller.
Here are the facts....the PS4 has sold to more gamers, PS4 games have been beating out XB1 games. Why is hard to believe that these gamers don't prefer the controller?

Ummmm...no, most polls don't show that. You simply repeating what I said and switching the console doesn't mean anything. Val stated a fact....most polls online have gamers preferring the PS4 controller. That, couple with the fact that more gamers are on PS4 and buy PS4 games more.........

So, do most gamer's prefer the PS4 controller? Who knows? But that's not what Val stated.

That isn't what I have been reading online, so I am sorry, but it is NOT a fact.

No?

That's funny, because I could easily find some like the following, but not in reverse in the XB1's favor

http://www.ibtimes.com/ps4-vs-xbox-...aystation-4s-dualshock-4-controller-according

It is funny. From what I see, the Xbox One controller has a higher average score for critic reviews:

http://www.engadget.com/products/microsoft/xbox/one/wireless-controller/

http://www.engadget.com/products/sony/dualshock/4/

Same with user reviews, though the quantity of user reviews there are dismal in quantity. But there are more....we can go back and forth all day if you want.

lol.....your links show a "review' with like a .1 to .2 difference.

Also, you're not showing apples to apples. One link doesn't have the same amount of reviews as the others, and they're not even all from the same sites. The best comparison is from the same site reviewing both.
For example:
Gizmode: 9 for XB1, 10 for PS4
Engadet: 8 for XB1, 9 for PS4
Polygon: 9 for both

Your link doesn't really help your cause, all it did was mostly show different reviews from different sites, but not all from same sites.

Same with your user scores. You have more user scores for XB1 controller, thus making a true comparison muddied. I mean, in the user review, there's a 6 for the Xb1 and the lowest for PS4 is a 7.

Anyway, Val was still correct in what he said, online polls show a favor towards PS4 controller.

Nope lol

Correct. DS4 is considered better on the majority of sites and gaming polls, does it make it true?

Well, you can say the DS4 is considered more popular based on the acquired data but to Kvally yourself, you may feel the X1 is better but your opinion would not be the opinion of the majority. It all comes down to personal preference. It just so happens this gen that more people prefer the DS4 more as proven by online polls and other gaming websites.

Um, yep.

It's obvious that you don't understand how polls work, and instead, you link to reviews from different sources and different people. That's NOT how polls work.

If you ask 10 xbox gamers to give their review of the controller and 6 PS4 gamers to review the PS4 controller, and the average of both show one as being higher....that is not the same as polls. For a poll to be conducted, you'd need to ask those 16 gamers to rate which one they think is better.

If you can't understand how that works, then you'll just continue to show your ignorance on the matter.

Well we won't agree on our opinion again. No worries.

Actually the X1 controller is preferred in polls and online gaming site reviews.

I would have never imagined how grown a** adults would argue and go try hard mode to prove what poll says a controller is better then the other when its up to an individual to determine that. Unreal. I mean at the end of the day does it matter ???? Is it going to effect the quality of someone's life based on what controller they think is better ? Who gives a sh*t???? Smh.

Just another day.

You all preference inferior controller designs. Meanwhile I'm still gaming like a real gamer. :ytongue:

Yeah! An awesome controller. A little small, but those shoulder buttons were fantastic. Not sure why people oooh and ahhhh about 6 button rectangular layouts. It's much easier to press X/A and B/Y with one thumb press. And pressing a face button and shoulder button consecutively is lightning fast as one uses thumb, and the other index fingers. This layout made playing SF and MK much easier.

For games using them for scrolling like Contra 3, the layout was key for gameplay. It wouldn't be possible to scroll the views and shoot at the same time fluidly if it was a rectangular 6 button layout.

Or how they avoid the fact that other links state differently. Hell, even PCgaming picks the Xbox One controller over the PS4 controller in their comparo. Not that we should be surprised. The X1 is the better controller.

After spending time with both I prefer the PS4 controller. Something just feels off with the Xbox one pad (feels like it has big dead zones or something). And thats coming from a guy who loved the 360 controller.
Yep, dead zones and tiny knobs as joysticks. MS took a step back here.

There are some sites that do prefer the X1 but there are more that prefer the DS4 but that doesn't mean the controller is actually better. Like I said, it's all preference. Just more people prefer the DS4 this gen, no biggie.

Ignore Kvally.... He will keep trolling using tatics like a 7 year old "i know you are but what am i" over and over.
