I usually don't even notice the controllers. But having played GTA 5 on both systems back to back, I actually do prefer the DS4. And not because of the gimmicky stuff. The actual overall feel and control.
The DS3 always cramped my hands since it felt too small and light. DS4 is just about perfect.
My aiming sucks on GTAV (XB1) and wonder if its an issue with the deadzone people talk about on the XB1 controller, I have tweaked the sensitivity several times and just cant get a fluid aiming movement on the right thumbstick, can you say if its much or any better on the PS4 ?
Yeah the "Snap to" targets (L Triggering I believe) is how I have to aim now , never had an issue free aiming in the past though on previous consoles.I was having issues with the same thing on X1. Even with auto-assist or whatever mechanism that allows you to snap to different targets .
I haven't , I thought that was just for microphone/chat issues, could that help with the abruptness of movement in the sticks ?Did you guys ever update your controllers.
The best controllers you'll ever use........
What you mean by 'Update your controller'.Did you guys ever update your controllers.
Yep, but I only did so because I bought the MS headephones.Did you guys ever update your controllers.
There is something wrong with the X1 controller. I don't own the PS4 so can't compare this gen. Really have liked everything about the X1 other than the Halo debacle and my lack of accuracy with the X1 controller. I liked the initial feel and didn't think anything of it until trying to play Halo online. I was far more accurate with the 360 controller and haven't been able to put my finger on it. Maybe it is this deadzone you guys are referring to. Maybe it's the change in the feel. I'm actually looking for a good 3rd party option for FPSs.

Turns out there is an update for X1 controller.
You need a usb to mini usb cable to do it though. Took me a good rummage around my house to find one that fit.
Anyway, maybe I'm imagining things but I did the update, went to GTA online, and I swear it feels better. More gradual and less twitchy, slower too. Had to go into settings and max out look around sensitivity and bump aiming sensitivity to 3/4 full and it feels pretty good now.
I've always thought GTA games had s***ty aiming response anyway, but I swear the update improved it here. Am I crazy? Is this a placebo effect of me wanting the update to include improved stick calibration? Anyone know the facts about the X1 controller update?
I didn't take note of the original firmware number, but after the update it says 1.1.2228.0 if anyone wants to try it out and tell me if I'm full of s*** or not.
No, but who doesn't have a bunch of micro USB cables lying around?
The 360 controller didn't get updated firmware. So no, you wouldn't remember needing to.
a USB cable is not provide for X1? Hmmm. Then again, there is no USB cable for 360 as well, but I do not remember ever needing to update.
