For me it’s having no timeframe for the Series X patch. Who knows when that is coming and what the price of the game will be by then

Shouldn't be long for an XSX patch considering the game is being made for PC anyway? Same assets and features I assume.
The only reason why I want this game Day 1 is to test my rig's power with ray tracing.
My hate and jealously toward Ace grows stronger everyday.
Anyhow, for those getting the Xbox One/ Series SX version, preload is up via the xbox app. Takes up 59.47GB.
PC preload is not up yet.
This is one of those game where I'll have 2 copies, one for my PC and the other for Series X. PC gets played first and Series X version for the 2nd play-through.

I freed up a bunch of space for it yesterday. 60gigs isn't too bad for a game this big, I was expecting it to possibly be worse.
My understanding is that is without the Day one patch. Its not inconceivable that the patch puts it at or above 70 GB.
Dude I upgraded from a 3570K and a 1080. I was long overdue for an upgrade.
Early word is that there's a performance/quality toggle in the game on Xbox Series X. This was reported after a patch. No sign of this patch on PS5 yet.

If I had an idea how long the next gen update will be I may wait but if there’s no indication, I’m gonna play on the 10th.
Looks like there may be a Day zero patch on top of the Day 1 patch. Hope everyone is preloading.

For what its worth, I like our little community. Some of the other bigger named forums and social media places are having meltdowns over this game. Either spoilers being thrown around willy nilly or issues with the developers or anger about expectations of the game vs reality.

This game is definitely into way, way, way overhype territory. People do this more and more with things. They overhype them to massively unrealistic expectations, then will rage when it launches and fails to meet those impossible standards.
I've been in the same mode I get into for a Star Wars movie launch - I go dark and avoid as much hype as possible.
People are going to crash on this game, hard. People build up too high and then have too far to fall. Then they are going to turn into internet ragers. It is a super unhealthy way to live. I guess now that I'm older I've learned to just not fall for it anymore.
I'm probably going to wait until the weekend or maybe even longer just to let the insanity die down.

Marketing hype is a helluva drug.
As always, tempering expectations and waiting for release to see what the game is actually like helps tremendously. Some people like to rage though.
Why are people saying Monday and Tuesday release had to double check haha it's Thursday!
Haven't been following this game at all and don't have a lot of interest yet, but that happens for a lot of games and just means I didn't have a long wait to play. Either way I'll wait for PS5 version.
