Dead Nation: Apocalypse edition: PS4, March 4th

I highly recommend investing in a pair (or two) of Kontrolfreaks. I'm new to them, but they've helped a ton with my aim in all games, particularly FPS games though. I highly recommend a tall one for the aiming stick, and shorter one for the movement stick.

I can pull off the charged headshots on most all of the zombie types, rarely missing, with these badboys. Used to be less than easy to do on the PS3 version using the stock sticks, so either I'm just considerably better at video games in my old age (unlikely) or these stupid rubber tips on the end of my controllers have helped.

It think that I'm going to buy a pair of Kontrol Freeks on Amazon. They have a few that are compatible with the One. I'm looking at the CQC ones.

Quick question, why do you only use the Freek on the aiming stick? Thanks.

By extending the length of the stick, you increase it s overal travel giving you, in theory, more precise control of it. You would do this for just the aiming stick because that is the only place where you would gain any potential advantage from it. However, at least for me personally, I do not like them at all and find them unnecessary.

Played it for a bit, it didn't grab me but I'm sure I'll get back to it soon. Using R1 to shoot sucks big time though.

JinCA have you tried mapping shooting to the right trigger? Made it easier for me.

Played the game for a few hours last night in co-op mode and had a blast. Highly recommend fully upgrading the rifle since it has unlimited ammo and can pull off the awesome head shots when charged. Here are some other tips that may be valuable to those who are new to the game:

I'd be careful about getting them on Amazon, as a lot of people complain in the reviews there about getting pairs that were for the wrong console than was listed. The official site's store is super fast.

I actually went with Kontrol Freeks on both sticks. A shorter one on the movement stick, longer one on the aiming stick (CQC for movement, Ultra for aiming). They've been a huge help for precision aiming in Battlefield for me. Looks like they have a new pair that does the short / long mix right off the bat, called "Vortex".

I'm comfortable with the xbox One CQC listing. But it's always good to be wary. I almost ordered from KF's website, but I did some research, and their customer service apparently blows, with many people reporting long shipping times. And you have to spend $25 for free shipping. With my Prime membership, I'll get the CQC' for $13, just in time for Titanfall.

So you bought 2 pairs then? How are the Ultras? I was worried that they would be too tall. Is there a big difference between them and the CQC? I would consider canceling my Amazon order and getting two pairs of Vortexes, which is essentially the setup you have. I'd have to get them from KF directly. Thoughts?

Also, are you using yours on the PS4 or One? The PS4's analog sticks are a little shorter, I think.

Thanks, man.

Just cancelled my order on Amazon and ordered 2 pairs of Vortexes from KF's website; one for my One controller, and one for my PS4 controller.

Promo code "2sik" saves you 10%. It was $25.18 for both, barely made free shipping.

My R1 and L1 buttons sometime get stuck for a few seconds but then become okay again. I'll try that clean up trick next time if I encounter it again.
I seem to have this issue just a bit too, very annoying with a game you have to press to shoot in. It's not sticing for a second though, just a very short time.. but shouldn't happen.

I have them for both PS4 and X1. Let me know how the Vortexes are! They took me an hour or so to get used to, but feel like second nature now.

I completed the main campaign on Dead Nation on normal today. Will need to try out coop and the DLC.

Will do! For what it's worth, I've already received the shipment notification from KF. I'd love to have them on WED for Titanfall. Thanks for the motivation to take the plunge.

DN is still fun, I beat the first 2 chapters on Normal. Good game.

I completed it last night too. Really fun game. I want to go at it again on a higher difficulty as well as get some co-op on. The last level of the game was pretty fun as the game throws a lot at you. Luckily I had my mines fully upgraded and those things are great at keeping the zombie hordes away as long as you place them in the right spots. Also, the blade cannon is so awesome.
