Destiny PS4 vs Xbox One comparison.

Yeah, never got the knocks on subjective issues. Hell, that's something that can be changed on one's TV. I really don't remember PS3 getting knocked for being too vibrant. I always liked the color depth.

No, the PS3 got knocked for not being "as vibrant" as the 360. See what I'm saying? Last gen, PS3 visuals paled in comparison because visuals weren't as vibrant....now, XB1 visuals are still better because PS4 visual is now "too vibrant"? That's why I found the comment funny.

My comment was toward the video setting not being on the same in the the comparison video. My Xbox (and it's blacks) looks great on my tv. I was saying I'd be unhappy if my video settings look like that. It's obviously not set right.
They might look great but its a known issue with the XBO that although improved with one of the updates is still there.

Oh, I definitely see your point. I agree. Funny, but Sad Funny.\

Well, I'm glad you told me then o_O

I'll make sure to dislike that "issue" in the future?

They do have a black crush problem if using pc mode for full range rgb. I play on an Ben q gaming monitor and have to use the black equalizer on my monitor to brighten up the crushed blacks. My ps4 is hoooked to the same monitor and displays full rgb just fine . It's really starting to annoy me that Microsoft has not addressed this. However when using limited mode and hooked to a tv the Xbox displays just fine .

Ah, see, I WAS aware of the Full RGB thing. Seeing as I use a TV (in Limited mode, I guess) it's not an issue. I remember putting it on Full, and the image was really dark.

It's not that the PS4 version is too vibrant, it just looks that way relatively speaking because of the washed out look of the X1 version. And remember Bgamer is a Xbox fan.

What I don't get is how come it still looks less sharp than the Ps4 when both are 1080p? I thought the resolution boost was supposed to fix that from the beta.

Anyways, seems like most people's predictions still hold, even at same res and fps, there are slight disparities among the X1 and PS4 version such as better AA, texture filtering, colours and image quality due to extra power. Glad Bungie is using it and hope other devs do the same.

Wonder how the gaming performance stack up?

All I know is on my calibrated 50" 1080p Panasonic Plasma- Destiny on XB1 looks great. Blacks look fine. Set to TV not full RGB.
mine looks great too on Xbox one and I ensure everybody it's super sharp looking and not washed out.

The video sucks but shows the dimmer xb1 version. Here is that zoomed in pic that I can barely make out the dividing line on. If you say there is a difference I'll have to take your word for it and just learn to live with the gimped version... :hehe:

Maybe my tablet doesn't show what maybe obvious to some? I'll check it out on my PC shortly...

I'm wondering why this game isn't 60 FPS. While playing, pops out and says "ok, this is taxing the system" (PS4). Don't get me wrong, the game is incredibly fun, but this needs to be 60 FPS.

Noone said the X1 version is gimped... way to play the victim card again.

As stated in the article "This in no way means that the Xbox One version is dumbed down in anyway but the extra horsepower of the PS4 just shows."

Fairly certain that has to do with the better texture filtering on the PS4 version. At full HD the differences are more noticeable on both versions. That and the PS4 version seems to be using a better AA solution as well.
It is all a wash though because while the differences are there it isn't massive.

Your blacks are that bad with XBO as I stated earlier it has a HDMI issue that crushes blacks and still has yet to be fixed completely.

AVS forums have lots of work arounds for this problem on the Xbox One, from changing settings to RGB Limited, changing TV RGB settings, and more....and requiring you to change all those settings back to normal when NOT using the Xbox One. It's still a mess, and was a mess with the Xbox 360. I wonder if that is to do with MS really not being a hardware company, and Sony doing this stuff for a living.

If you ever feel it in your heart to link such AVS forum pages, I would forever be grateful. Understanding, of course, that the only reason I don't do it myself is because I am lazy.

Yeah, after playing a few hours last night- that video doesn't look the same. It's not washed out at all. The IQ is really good too. I really don't know how much better it can look without a change in assets. The Texture Filtering is good, the AA is good, the lighting, the resolution. This really does look like a job for DF, as we all know, when there is no discernible difference, we gotta bring in the experts to tells us the winner!

Yup, same here. Mine was not washed out at all either. Could it look washed out compared to the competing version, possibly. But I haven't seen the final version of the competing version on my TV yet.

That's because in a real world application, the differences are very very tiny. It was no different last gen. I have every CoD on PS, Xbox and pc (except for that crappy ghost), and between last gen's CoD games on both consoles, the differences visually in real world game play...was barely noticeable. One would be hard pressed to see the difference. However, xbox fans claimed there was a world of difference. Someone went as far as to claim the xbox version "curb stomped" the PS version (and no, it wasn't theseekar, but don't recall who).

Honestly, just play on your console of choice, the differences now are like last gen....not enough to deter anyone from playing on their preferred console.

If you google it you will find answers its a known issue, its not a limitation of XBO and can be fixed...I dunno what MS is thinking.
I posted a recent thread in this thread talking about it if you don't wanna google it. All of my sets(4K included) are calibrated and its still there.
