Destiny PS4 vs Xbox One comparison.

That's because in a real world application, the differences are very very tiny. It was no different last gen. I have every CoD on PS, Xbox and pc (except for that crappy ghost), and between last gen's CoD games on both consoles, the differences visually in real world game play...was barely noticeable. One would be hard pressed to see the difference. However, xbox fans claimed there was a world of difference. Someone went as far as to claim the xbox version "curb stomped" the PS version (and no, it wasn't theseekar, but don't recall who).

Honestly, just play on your console of choice, the differences now are like last gen....not enough to deter anyone from playing on their preferred console.

I'm sorry but I had blops 2 on 360 and ps3 and the 360 version clearly outshined it on my tv.

Certainly in the case of this game, the differences are practically non-existent. To the point were it's not something needed to be considered when choosing between the two. I'd say content (DLC), controller, preference are the differentiators, not the visuals.

And you'll find people that claim "clearly" there's a difference between Destiny on PS4 versus XB1. I'm not saying there wasn't a difference, I'm saying the differences were so minor in CoD games, that it really wasn't worth the making the claims of curb stomping differences as some claimed.
After PS3 version of BO2 was updated, the game looked near the same (but then again, in my opinion, they both looked sh!tty, so my opinion may be skewed because I was hating on the visuals period.)

Noone said the X1 version is gimped... way to play the victim card again.

As stated in the article "This in no way means that the Xbox One version is dumbed down in anyway but the extra horsepower of the PS4 just shows."
Extra horse power just shows?!? Where?!? 2% vibrant colors?!?:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh: f*** all man, your too much sometimes.

In before "they held back the PS4 version for parity" claims.....

Its obvious due to MS parity pressure the PS4 version is held back hence the closeness.

That doesn't make a shred of sense.
The game was advertised on the PS4 almost exclusively.
Sony signed a deal with Activision/Bungie for exclusive content.

For all intents and purposes the PS4 was the lead platform for Destiny.
That said the game looks somewhat better overall on the PS4 (obvious to at least me) so nothing was held back by anything.

I mean do you have any real world evidence to support this claim of the PS4 version being held back because of Microsoft?

lolol, jokes on you. I'm too much because I stated what's in the article?

Better AA, more vibrant colour, better texture filtering leading to better IQ as stated by the article.

On a positive note the two versions are very close IMHO graphically.
Differences are there, but alot of people may not notice it.

I want to see how the PS4/XB1 versions stack up vs. the PS3/360.
Dat generational difference.

Some people are do desperate to make the game equal, that they'll downplay the differences as being "only" in vibrancy.

Um, no....it's not just vibrancy. If you look at the image below (and not on a freaking cell phone), you can see that the PS4 image is sharper with slightly better textures. (click to expand). not worlds different, but certainly more than just vibrancy.

Yes, seriously. Sure, the difference is EXTREMELY small, so small, that it really doesn't matter....I even said as much that it really doesn't matter, but the difference is there.

Here's another. When expanded, you can see the tank is sharper on the PS4. Almost as if the resolution was higher. Again, expand the image.

Squint. Then tilt your head sideways at a 70 degree angle. EXACTLY 70 degrees though!

It doesn't matter if you feel you need to squint or not, point is, there is a difference, and it's more than just vibrancy. Is it a big difference? Hell no, but it's there.

Judging by that picture I almost want to say that the Xb1 version is using exclusively FXAA..???
Would explain why it is a little blurrier and FXAA is known for the fact that it is minimal on performance hit.

PS4 in addition to the superior texture filtering is probably using a mixture of FXAA or lower quality MSAA.

Meh
/Need both side by side to really notice any difference though.

The difference is insignificant. Usually I agree with the differences that you point out but the arrow one above is as "Go, go, Gadget arm" as it gets.

I suggest you look into MS forcing parity stories. But either way
If you think a over 40% more powerful consoles version of a game looks almost identical then you make no sense.EDIT: looks almost identical for any reason but some sort of parity being forced.

Did I say the differences were significant?

I said they were there when others were claiming the differences were just in vibrancy.

The difference are very tiny, I admit....but it's funny how people claim the difference is so small, that it's not there.....yet think there's a very big difference between the below, enough to claim that one curb stomps the other.

The only thing that makes that image look like two separate images is the black line in the middle.

How does that relate to the PS4 being lead platform for Destiny?
Don't come in here and try to say that Microsoft forced Bungie to make the game look near identical on both platforms and then just leave a blanket statement like that without any proof to back it up. Where is your proof that Destiny was affected by this?

You make no sense. The game DOES look near identical on both systems minus what we have been discussing in this thread that favor the PS4 version overall. The PS4 is more powerful hardware. Everybody is in agreement about that and apparently it is showing in Destiny (albeit not as noticeable here) if you care to look.
Grasping with strawman conspiracies every time a multiplatform game looks near the same on both platforms is fanboy logic.

MS has already said they are not even 30% apart in power. So yeah, the difference for a console that is less than 30% more powerful on paper wouldn't be that significant. Look at last gen.

If you think with a 40% advantage that both games would still look virtually identical and its anything but parity then....you are not thinking.

Exactly, but according to Xbox fans last gen, there was vast differences between the 2.

It's just funny and sad at the same time, that now that the PS4 has the edge, the differences are nothing (you gotta squint). Last gen, the differences were so vast, that it smacked you in the face as one was curb stomping the other.....lol.
