So a GTX 760 is as fast(or close) as a 780ti?

A 780 ti is more powerful (hardware wise), but you of all people should know that it isn't the only factor in how it will perform. You say you are a PC gamer as well so you should know it is the sum of all parts that will dictate actual real world performance. Not only that but it is the SOFTWARE that will leverage that power.
For all we know due to the size of Destiny + the A.I. code running in the back for all the enemies + particle simulation etc, the extra horsepower of the PS4 was put towards making the framerate and texture filtering more refined. Obviously the game looks slightly better on that system and the texture filtering is superior.
Bungie did make use of the PS4 extra horsepower even if you don't want to admit it.

That is where I'm going to end my discussion on it. I don't feel like getting into it any further. I feel this should be common knowledge.

Okay the sum of all parts=a over 40% PS4 advantage still.
Destiny is MS influenced parity nothing more nothing less.

EDIT: missed the bottom part of your post common knowledge is 40+% is a big gap.

That speaks for multi-platform games now exclusives on XBO with the right dev could paint a prettier picture.. Ryse is a good example of this.

I don't think people dispute there is a power difference. Just what that difference amounts to. In this case... Not so much. And no, I do NOT think Bungie gimped the PS4 version. At all. The fact that up until the very end, there wasn't parity speaks to that. You are speaking out your ass as far as the gimping theory goes. That is not a "fact".

You sure do like to bring up that 40% though, despite the fact none of this stuff scales linearly, and different methods achieve different results.

Everyone is noticing that less than a 30+% power difference isn't that meaningful. Just look at last gen when the PS3 was claimed to be even more powerful then that compared to the 360. In the end, they had similar games.

What exactly did you expect to be better about the PS4 version?

And what does Microsoft influenced parity mean? They probably helped Bungie reach parity on their console. How is that in any way bad?

I think it's pretty safe to say, at this point, that the supposed 40% power advantage the PlayStation 4 has over the Xbox One does not translate into significant real world differences anymore. It seems that, as the generation has gone on, the power gap has become less and less meaningful. Where there was 1080>720 before, now it's been reduced to 1080 slightly sharper>1080 slightly less sharper.
