It was junk when I played it on the PC but its looking interesting again easily like the best MMO on consoles...might get it on the PS4.
When you say it was junk on PC, what exactly do you mean? And what about the console version is pulling you back in? I'm thinking about picking this up for my X1 but I'd like to hear more opinions about it.

Well the best way I can sum it up was.... It wasn't like Skyrim and seemed very uninspiring.
Looking at newer footage seemed to fix this somewhat.

So.....

If I HAD to choose between ESO and The Witcher 3, and I've never played the first or second Witcher games, which should I choose. I'm in desperate need of an RPG for my X1.

I would go with the witcher 3, it really is the best rpg out and it looks amazing regardless of which system you get it for and there is alot of content in the game so you will not be done with it quick.

I'm a fan of ESO. I think it's one of the most underrated MMOs in recent times. But even I would say, if you have to choose between Witcher 3 and ESO, go with the Witcher. The game is simply not to be missed, probably your GOTY winner if not runner up.

Exploration trailer. Piques my interest a bit, since that's one of the things I like most about the ES series.

Question. They say it allows players access to all 9 regions. Is that true? From what I remember, the regions were gated off, depending on your alliance; you could gain access to other regions, but only above level 50 (or something like that).

Excerpted from "7 Things You Need to Know about ESO:"

4. My, How It’s Grown

Growth is a part of any online game, and ESO is no different. The game first hit PCs in April 2014, which means it’s had more than a year to flourish. It’s added two entirely new gameplay zones: Craglorn and Dragonstar Arena. It’s gained a variety of new gameplay features, like a justice system to punish criminals and a whole new skill line to go along with it. And it’s layered in a ton of new upgrades to the visuals, the interface and more.

All these upgrades will be present and accounted for in the console version – plus a lot more. “Tamriel Unlimited on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 offers an experience that’s custom-tailored to these consoles,” says Lead Gameplay Designer Chris Strasz. “These versions leverage many of the unique features of each console, including new achievements, built-in voice chat, integration with Xbox Live and PSN, and an all-new interface and control scheme built from the ground up to take advantage of controllers.

Speaking of which...

5. It Has a Completely Redesigned Interface for Consoles

This point bears repeating: The UI and controller interface for the console version of ESOTU was designed from the ground up for consoles. That means that the team didn’t have to awkwardly pare down a keyboard-and-mouse control scheme to fit a controller; they built a whole new system.

While Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim were great examples of console interfaces in Elder Scrolls games, ESO presented its own challenges. The always-active nature of MMOs, for example, necessitated giving players the ability to trigger abilities instantly, which led to an intuitive system of slotted abilities – which translated easily into controller play. And of course, no MMO would be complete without the ability to express emotion (often via interpretive dance), so ESOTU gained another radial menu with customizable /emote slots. Which means you can shake your booty at the touch of a button.

Hm. Finding myself interested in picking this game up. I've always been a big ES nut, and I've never tried an MMO before. Witcher is probably the better game objectively, but subjectively, I don't really feel in the mood for it right now.

Just pre-ordered ESO. I'm the mood for a MMO. I have enjoyed the elder scrolls and watching the pc game play with all the latest additions and fixes looks polished.

I was disappointed to hear that ESO doesn't include Morrowind -- none of the area in the original game, that is, just some area to the south of it. I was looking forward to visiting Balmora, Vivec, the Bitter Coast, Seyda Neen, all that stuff, so I'm let down.

I suppose they might be saving it for DLC.

Even though I'm loving the Witcher I can't wait to play this. Got it for 20 since I already bought the PC version at launch.:)

The portion that is there is very Morowind though and pretty awesome to behold. You will still get to itch that nostalgia.

With the launch finally upon us here is a few things to get us started.

We already had a thread, but I guess we could use a new one, now that the game is almost out.

I'm debating with myself whether to get this. On the one hand, I like the ES series and I've never played an MMO, so this would be something new. On the other hand, I doubt I'm an MMO guy (I much prefer SP), the game wasn't developed by Bethesda, and we have the time sink factor as well.

Official Thread.

I really enjoyed the game on PC. Ultimately moved on because, attention span, and also my friends were playing other things.

If this is your first time with the game I think you guys will be in for a real treat. I tried the XB1 beta and I thought they did a great job with the revamped UI for the controllers. Looks like everything mapped over well. It looked and ran better than I expected as well. Enjoy it guys.

The game stinks and there is a reason it went free to play from a subscription model. Very mediocre MMO.

One of the biggest let downs IMO.

Are we can just say the platform we are getting it on. Unless Andy wants a poll.

I am dling the PS4 version.

I checked to see if I could add a poll after the fact, but I can't.

I'd be getting it for PS4, if I got it, but I'm not sure whether to do that or not.

Have you played it since launch. They have changed and improved the game quite a bit.
Also getting PS4 version since that's all I have.
