That quote just means they understand they need to recapture the experience. I doubt it will be a carbon copy of H2
 
I'll sure as hell be staying out of it if they do include multiplayer. No bxr bulls*** for me.

I'll stick to my boltshot/camo bulls***, thankyouverymuch
 
Microsoft is hitting it out of the park. Halo 5: Guardians and a Halo 1-4 collection right before that? House of games is right baby!

For me the complete opposite. I love Halo 4's gameplay, was never big on Bungie's Halo games except for the first one.

I know i cannot expect these games to look like true Xbox One games, but if they can make Halo , Halo 2 and 3 look like Halo 4 but even nicer thanks to X1, i will be happy. I would not like it if it's just Halo 2 from the first Xbox in HD.

However...all this has yet to be announced by MS, nothing official so far. Also i hope if this turns out to be true, that we won't be seeing more E3 leaks. But what can you do.
 
Seems like a lot of people care about what the multiplayer is going to be like, but for me just give halo 1-4 and I'll be happy. I'd like to play through them all again to get a refresh before Halo 5 comes out.

I'd be more than happy with that, or even if they could pull off the H:CE anniversary style graphical upgrade with 2-3 I'd be happy.
 
Hopefully they can hook up a Halo Wars/ODST combo pack as well. Maybe include Spartan Assault to help sweeten the deal for that in-between release for 5 and 6. Here's hoping they do a beta for Halo 5 to make it as good as possible.
 
I will always love the Halo games, have never been bored playing them even after playing them over and over again so if this is true will be a must buy for me!!

I just did a marathon run through from reach to Halo 4 ( except ODST, can't find my copy :( ). All solo on legendary. Sooo great. :bang:

That game is a mediocre black stain on my beloved franchise :mad:
 
I just want Halo 2 multiplayer exactly how it was with better graphics, anything else is a disappointment honestly. Please, please, please, Microsoft don't ruin this!
 
Wow, what a crazy week for Xbox news man. Crazy.

I think with Engadget reporting this, it's all but a done deal. The lingering questions I have:
  1. Will Halo CE be included in this package? If not, no biggie for me as I own Halo CE (OG Xbox version) and Halo CEA. I would think if it was the "Master Chief collection though, that it would.
  2. What does multiplayer look like? I can understand if they go the Halo 4 route but my preference would be this:
    • Halo 2 Multiplayer - Upgraded graphics and original unaltered gameplay
    • No other multiplayer included
    • Beta access for Halo 5
The reason for no other multiplayer is that this is mostly about Halo 2 A (10 year anniversary) so make that the focus (I think it's what the fans really want...) The campaign of 3 and 4 are good/great (I liked 4 better overall but 2 of the Halo 3 campaign levels are probably my fav in any Halo game) and we really don't need more than one possible MP community out of this package. However, with my last statement there, you can see how MS might say, "Hey, let's give them Halo 4 multiplayer with all of those maps, all of the Halo 2 maps and maybe even some Halo 3 maps"; i.e. one MP to rule them all. I can't see them doing more than one MP for this package so it's either Halo 2 MP remake or Halo 4 MP with the old maps (yech!). Do the right thing MS!
 
How hard/easy would it be to replicate the "original" H2 multiplayer experience though? Can the original net code and all that be re-used on the XB1 and current version of XBL?

I could dig a version of H2: anniversary done just like H:CE anniversary, a HD facelift engine over the existing engine, for both SP/MP.
 
I never got into Halo games, but 60 fps I'm in. I'll suck at it, but at least I won't hate the 30fps action! lol

actually, I think halo 3 was at 24 fps.

This was before anyone really cared though, before the cod, before the dark times..
