Aloy looks like a female Jay Leno.

As fantastic as it looks, I still think ghost of Tsushima has a nicer colour palette….*disclaimer - may change mind once I llay the game tho

Cohh's streaming it early.

I watched a little, but the story thus far wasn't very gripping, but that's with very little time. Maybe didn't give enough time. Plus, I never played the first one.

Color palette looks much improved, at least in that stream. Still cartoony, but looks much better.

Sounds like the game doesn't open up until about 10 hours in. Appears a lot of reviewers were down on the game up until this point but after that it blew them away.

In motion, I feel the performance and resolution mode differences won't be as apparent. Only if you're standing still and doing nothing.

You will be moving 99.9% of the time.

4K HORIZON FORBIDDEN WEST PS5 Walkthrough Gameplay Part 1 - INTRO (FULL GAME)

Horizon Forbidden West PS4-To-PS5 Upgrade Can't Be Preloaded

If you take advantage of the $10 cheaper PS4 version of Horizon Forbidden West, you'll have to wait a little longer to play.
Horizon Forbidden West is just days away, so now is the prime time for preorders and preloading to get ready for launch. If you plan to take advantage of the $10 discount that comes with buying the PS4 version, though, things will get just a little more complicated, and you'll have to wait for a separate download to play your upgraded PS5 version.

Sony has promised free digital upgrades from PS4 to PS5 for Forbidden West, making good on its commitment one last time for all PS5 "launch window" games. This is already a little complex, as the offer must be purchased through a browser. But then if you do purchase through a browser and set it to download, you'll find the PS4 version installed. There's no option to pre-download the PS5 version, through the game application, your game library, or the store.

PlayStation Support addressed this confusion on Twitter with a fan, stating that players will have to wait until the game is released to claim the digital upgrade. It also forwards to a generic PS5 upgrade FAQ, which notes you'll need to find the upgrade offer through the game hub, redeem it, and then download. If this process works as it has with other games, the PS5 version is an entirely separate download, which could be a concern for those who have data caps and unknowingly download the PS4 version first.

I should have just bought the PS5 version.

Smart Delivery would smooth out all this confusion about the different versions. But Sony is stubborn and don't want to implement anything like it and rather cause confusion. :smash:

Game looks very good (like it's predecessor). The Humans still look wonky to me. I don't know if its the movement, the slightly off proportions, the lighting, or what, but they make me think of puppets. Also, Alloys hair looks awesome... except that it has like, zero friction so it moves too much. When I watch the cutscenes it's really distracting... Maybe because the realistic look of the graphics? IDK.

Otherwise, it's looking good. I never managed to finish the first one (cleared the map tho, lol). I just can't find Aloy an interesting character enough to engage in the story.

I finished the first one, I just can’t remember the plot.

In the cut scene clips I've seen, it looks like they took the complaints about static NPCs and camera angles too seriously, and now every conversation has characters using way too many gestures and looking away from the person they're talking to far too often. It's like they went from one far side of the uncanny valley to the other, but they're still definitely in the uncanny valley.

Otherwise, game looks great. Looking forward to reading impressions here.

Wish we had the option to skip the prologue or whatever. The first 10 or so hours look boring af. Let me explore from the start Guerilla you f*ck twits.

Hmmm.

Resolution mode looks great but the 30fps makes me wanna vomit. The 60fps mode loses quite a bit of IQ and has this weird shimmering effect. Also HDR is broken in resolution mode, creates a weird effect when you move the camera.
