I just started the download for the PS5 version. Its over 80gigs which is larger than the PS4 size which is surprising given how things have mostly went in the opposite direction due to the PS5's unique capabilities.

Anyway, I'm still working from home and the download is causing havoc with my connection to the firm I work for. We had an online meeting this morning and my feed was experiencing huge spikes of lag where I had to discontinue my end of the conference and instead tune in by phone. My manager asked me to seek out tech support to try and correct the issue. He has no idea that we have such a huge difference in priorities. I will not stop the game from downloading, a little lag never hurt no one nor do I care at this point. :tounge:

You have the CORRECT priorities, sir.

Restart the game twice? Say what?

Probably once so the game will start up and download the update and then again so it'll run the updated version. Which doesn't make any sense but I've literally had to write a piece of code once that checked if some object was null twice in a row because for some reason the second time it was and would crash the system otherwise. (And that part of the software wasn't even really multithreaded, so that really made no sense).

Hmmm.

Resolution mode looks great but the 30fps makes me wanna vomit. The 60fps mode loses quite a bit of IQ and has this weird shimmering effect. Also HDR is broken in resolution mode, creates a weird effect when you move the camera.
I only played for about an hour and a half last night and only played in Res mode but I never noticed any strange effect when moving the camera. I did notice the over done body language during the cut scenes though, I think the camera angles are a good addition but yeah they are going a bit overboard with the gestures etc. Aloys hair still looks great but moves too much too, so many games with hair physics over do it for some reason, I guess they just want us to see that it moves lol.

Edit: I just saw the posts that said they fixed some issues, I had an update before I started playing last night so that must be why I don't see what you pointed out. I didn't start playing until after midnight pacific time.

I am playing on quality,I have no problem so far with 30 fps...what I have problems with is the climbing, the underwater stuff but thats just me,I hate, hate underwater in every game, and the memory leaks...twice now I had to quit the game and come back because it was running at 5 fps...they need to fix this fast.

Besides that,the game is amazing.

Is under water mandatory?

Playing on performance. Can't stand 30fps and game still looks amazing. I've only played through the first main quest so far.

I'm a good 6 hours in now I believe and playing on performance. The increased resolution mode is nice but I just can't play at 30 after feeling how good 60 fps is, lol. Don't notice any memory leaks or fps stutters so far. I played for about 4 hrs yesterday and couple hours this morning.

Game looks incredible, only thing is I notice little pop ins sometimes during beginning of game but now not so much.

Well if ZD is any indication I'll hit that 86 hour mark. I'm terrible at these open world games because I spend so much time just wondering around taking in the world.
