Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Kingdom Come: Deliverance confirmed for Xbox One

You guys remember Kingdom Come: Deliverance, right? It's, in Ed's words, "a first-person medieval sword-fighting game that takes place in a realistically styled open world and allows you to participate in an actual castle siege, with ladders and crenelations and everything." Catchy. Developer Warhorse Studios has just announced that, after far surpassing its Kickstarter goals it'll definitely be coming to next gen consoles. Huzzah!

"It also appears that we will be able to publish the game on consoles at least digitally ourselves, without publishers. We shall see about the physical/retail publishing, we may be able to do it ourselves, or we may make a deal with another company to do it, this remains to be seen." Watch this space then, folks.

Think it's something you'd be interested in?

I was going to post this but the interest for the thread in the Multiplatform section seemed pretty low.

I for one and looking forward to seeing and hearing more. My only gripe thus far is the First person view. I would have preferred the third person.

Damn... really? I missed that. Yeah, that would be a gripe with me too.

The first person doesn't look as bad as I had thought, but I would still prefer 3rd person for this kind of game

I don't know, I kinda like this in first person. It adds to the immersive experience of it all. If it was 3rd person the pacing of the fighting would put me to sleep. First person works kind of well with this.

You know, the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of a first person sword fighting game. Especially for the type of finesse and experience this game is going for. Could be interesting to play and just as unique. I was looking at this from the angle of an RPG, but as an action game? Definitely something there. Could end up being one of the more unique games for the new gen with the genre and perspective.

I'm very glad Warhorse is coming to next gen consoles. Hopefully 60fps.

Color me intrigued! I just got through watching "Vikings" and "The Tudors" and really enjoyed both shows so will definitely want to get this game! Looks really good! Now, I know there is a ton of Kinect hate but I think it would be fun if they had a "mini sword fight" game in there. Wouldn't want to play the whole game that way but could be fun if it was set up as a mini game, maybe separate ones for sword fighting, fighting, and archery. I know that most likely won't happen though!

Punchout with swords and shields. It's what I originally thought Ryse was gonna be. Would absolutely adore the game if it included something like that.

It could be fun and if they set it up as optional mini games people who don't like kinect wouldn't have to use it. Would also be cool if it was even an option in the game menu to play outside of the actual game too.

I was thinking of it as a seperate mode myself. Could end up being very cool.

I hope its really authentic, and you just keep over dead from a random plague/infection/rat king attack/circumcision.

This seems like it will be cool, i am glad its coming to the consoles as well now, i hope it turns out good.

The environments look nice. Looked like some of the shrubbery presented a fake wall, which is kind of a bummer. Surplus of chickens. Hard to tell what the final game will be like, because so much is missing (e.g., voice acting, activities). Looks like this is still pretty early, probably a year off or so.

I had a feeling the game was running on Cryengine and I was right. The combat looks sweet.

They got their funding then? Yes! RPG version of Chivalry here we come!

Oh God, you're going to beat this game in under 4 hours aren't you?

Lucid could make a living by giving the Chivalry development team lessons on how to play their game. He was the closest I've ever come to meeting Neo, AKA The One, in an online game.
