Kingdom Come: Deliverance

This is the best in game forest I've ever seen. Granted it's on PC but just WOW.

Nice screenies. Of course, it all comes down to the RPGness -- the combat, the story, the characters, levelling up mechanics, exploration, and so forth. I'll be curious to hear more about those, when the team is ready to reveal more.

Hopefully by the time this game comes out I'll have a PC that will be able to run it at max settings.

Don't you find it crazy how many RPGs we are getting? When was the last time we had such a huge flow of RPGs, and not just quantity either, we seem to have quality & variety.

I assume this game will release late 2016.

New trailer for Kingdom Come Deliverance, which is taking its sweet time in getting to us. It seems I first heard about the game 3 or 4 years ago. Still no release date, but the trailer says there is a "global announcement" June 9, next Friday, so maybe we'll get more info then. It'll likely be at E3, too.

Looks good. I like the idea of a realistic RPG set in the 1400s.

I'd swear I first hear about this game during the 360 days?!?!?

Looks amazing. Hopefully Scorpio and Pro can deliver that level of detail.

Yeah, I had to look close to figure out whether that was reality or rendered.

I've been following the development of this game. It's a very realistic and beautiful RPG. Take the crafting for instance. You have to put the right amount of ingredients in the right order, cook them for the right amount of time, stir them at the the right time and take them off the boil.
Some of the battles in the alpha also were impressive. Joining a force of around a hundred men in arm to arm combat looked really compelling and the game has probably the most beautiful forest and river settings I've seen in any game to date.
Will definitely pick it up.

Hm. I hope they don't overdo it with the realistic details. I mean, there's a fine line between realism and boredom.

It's interesting the way they are leaning toward the "sim" aspects of a medieval RPG, though. I don't think we've seen that before, at least not in the console space.

Good to hear.

As far as I know Andy, once a particular potion has been cooked from the recipe book, you don't have to do it again.
The game is quite heavy on the sim aspect though, maybe suited more to PC gaming, (you know how beardy some PC gamers are ) maybe they'll slightly tone it down on the console side.

They better not.

I'm interested to see how realistic they get. There's a line where realism is no longer fun. I'm sure it's different for each person, depending on why he/she plays RPGs. I play for adventure, escapism, challenge, interaction, story/characters, etc. If I'm tasked with lots of mundane activities (craft a horseshoe, churn butter, empty the chamberpot, make your own nails), I'm going to get annoyed. But I assume they aren't going to load the game down with boring real-world tasks, just to make it more realistic. I assume they're aiming for realism in the service of immersion and enjoyment, not just for its own sake.

I hear the beta was pretty rough. I think the beta was a long time ago, though, so hopefully they've fixed it up since.

Yet you do none of that in real life.

Realism is the only true form of escapism. You know how challenging it is to make a quality horseshoe?

Reminds me, I need to empty my chamberpot! Gardy loo!*

*what they yelled before dumping a chamberpot out an open window.
