Like how a dozen studios flatout said it increased their sales after going in GP, and some of you still tried denying it.Pretty logical but even a blatant admission by MS regarding this will not sway some people
Ironically, what is said in that article is par for the course for any game. Lol. It goes on sale and the sales drop off quickly. Xbox games will have no uptick because they don't leave.

Your second quote is hilarious because you forget that was from like 2018. Lol. When FH4 launched day 1 into the service GP only had maybe a third of the subs it has today. It is very possible that people tried the game via a GP deal and then bought it back then.
I am sure it has increased in some rare examples and people pretended they weren't exceptions
And probably in many of those exceptions its likely boosting sales on other platforms as opposed to Xbox.

The issue lies in that very statement Phil said. We know it increases game sales for certain titles but that it also cannibalizes sales for others. Xbox fans be making a blanket assumption that all titles sales will be increased from being on GP when that is simply not the case. The devs who said they benefitted from being on GP are not lying and the fact other games also get less sales from being on GP is factually correct.

Top sellers ending Jan 29th had HI Fi rush in 8th. Forspoken not in top 10. Forspoken had a day extra on sale.
Top sellers ending Feb 5th had Hi Fi rush in 6th. Forspoken not in top 10.
So... Forspoken sold better when you factor in also PlayStation and physical formats and not just steam.
Hifi Rush was last ranked #26 on Xbox charts last I read. Where is it now ?
