Official Comic Book Thread

Used to read:

-Preacher (have about every issue there)
-Sandman (by Neil Gaiman)
-Conan
-New X-men (followed the comic very much to the end)
-TMNT
-Irredeemable (superhero turned bad)
-Hulk (have about 5-6 issues or sow)
-Origin (Wolverines story, one of the most well told comic stories I have read)

Still do read:

-Batman (started reading again around the Hush story arc)
-Spawn (still do collect after all these years)
-The Dark Tower (still have a lot left of that comic, about half way)

Just started reading Cable & X-Force. Thought I'd go back for some prior series reading before I get on board with the new NOW! line of "X-Force".

Enjoying it so far, 5 issues in. Cable FTW... Still remember him from the early days of my comic book addiction in the Cable & Deadpool run.

New Deadpool is getting deep with him having feelings and stuff haha.. I'm not sure I like the "don't wanna be alone" Deadpool.

Just doesn't feel like there's enough mindless comedic violence in the series at the moment.

Personally, I preferred Way's writing.

I just started reading the on-going Deadpool series actually. The dead presidents arc was a bit wacky but it was okay. I prefer Deadpool when he's part of a team though, but I'm really not a fan of Cable.

I didn't realize they were coming out with a Moon Knight book again. It along with Iron Man was the first comics from Marvel I started reading when the previous volume started maybe 5 years ago.

News.

Moon Knight was fantastic. Magneto was great as well.

I've been reading Cable & X-Force lately, just gotten to the issue where it ties in with Uncanny X-Force, so I've started reading that before I get into the new tie-in. Uncanny has been great so far.

Man I hope Marvel start getting the cosmic side of things going again. Just finished the Richard Rider run of Nova which leaves me with only a few comics left from the entire DnA cosmic run. The new GotG run is alright but nothing is really happening right now, the Trial of Jean Grey story has been pretty good but it's been mostly build up so far.

I've really liked GotG so far and I'm enjoying the Trial of Jean Grey. It's such a pretty book to look at too.

Having only stepped back into comics in the last year or two, I can't comment on the Richard Rider run of Nova, but despite the new NOW! Nova being ill-accepted by most people, I'm liking that too. Takes me back to being a kid, thinking about how I'd react and what I'd do if I became a "superhero" overnight.

I've only read 1-5 or so of the new Nova (never read previous issues) and I enjoyed them. Guardians has been good so far as well 1-5. I am so far behind on everything but I'd like to read through both Nova and Guardians again up to Infinity and then read through that story. Then I have X-Men Battle of the Atom or whatever before I get to Trial of Jean Grey lol.

Then I'm about 10 issues behind on both Batman and Superman, a story behind on Saga and Clone. Finally I'm at about issue 70 or so of Invincible as I've read from issue 1 over the past year or so.

I'm behind on a lot of stuff too. I've been meaning to catch up on a lot of things, but simply don't/won't have the time.

Mainly sticking to the NOW! re-launch stuff, so most of my pull-list in that I'm caught up with. Battle of the Atom was the first major crossover event I followed this time around and had just caught up on all the tie-in series when it started.

I've made a spreadsheet recently so I can track all my progress and I know quickly where I'm up to now haha..

I love that with Battle of the Atom they put Part 1, 2, etc on each issue so you know which order to read. Luckily for Infinity I found a reading order online otherwise ????

Love that artwork.

Anyone with a good Graphical novels with good illustration to recommend?

Just finished Buffy season 9 and was pretty pleased with it. Gonna start the TV series again soon (for the untold number of times). By the time I'm done with the TV series and season 8 + 9 I should be able to pick up the first of season 10. Never was a comic fan but when it comes to Buffy I simply can't resist.

Wow. Nice. :bang:

I heard Moon Knight was extremely difficult to pick up.

Definitely a lot more people reading comics these days I think. Lots more interest with the movies infiltrating mainstream pop culture.

The emergence of tablets and phones with large screens plays a part I expect. For a lot of people reading comics is a lot more practical as you can buy and read them on a whim rather than having to track down local shops or specific issues.

You are right. I was shopping for some books at Amazon, & the kindle version many times are under half the price of a regular book. Its only a pity I do not have a tablet. In fact I was googling about which tablet is best for reading just this morning.

Caught up with X-Force and Uncanny X-Force now, with the Vendetta tie-ins. It's been a wild ride.

Looking forward to grabbing the new X-Force books.

"This is every Spider-Man EVER teaming up. Or fighting each other. Some won't get along. It's a Spider-Man story on a scale we have never seen before. Epic, in its scope. Every Spider-Man ever wasn't enough. We're bringing in even more! New ones you've never seen before."

Check it out the interview for this: News

Hm, interesting. Thoughts? We have a lot of Spider-Man love next month (April).

Huge week of comic releases.

Superior Spider-Man. Dayummmmmmm. I'm gonna miss you, Otto ;_;
Can't believe it ends next issue. I've gotten so much enjoyment out of SSM.

Anyone read the new series yet? Silver Surfer & All-New Ghost Rider are at home waiting to be read. Iron Patriot I'm on the fence about.

I have Moon Knight but haven't read it yet. One of these days I'll get back to reading.

Silver Surfer was pretty cool. Some cool art in there. I'm glad to see the cosmic side of things is starting to become more active again too.

It took me a while to get use to Mike's artwork, lol. But he's pretty cool.
