Man that swamp level is stunning with the lighting and reflections. Loved that level, and the boss fight was fantastic.

So I have Ryse, Forza, Dead Rising, and Killer Instinct. Guess which game is my favorite for now? RYSE! Three chapters in and this game is amazing.
Absolutely. The further I get into this game, the more and more I like it. And I haven't even touched multiplayer yet. This is a fun and solid game, with great production values. I'm completely stunned that it has gotten less than 7s across the board. Its better than a lot of similar games that have scored higher and weren't as good this. Glad I purchased this game. Hoping for a sequel of sorts and maybe even some single player DLC.
Im about to buy this in 30min because of all the positive feedback for $40.00 off craigslist! Guys some good deals to be had on CL, check it out!
its a solid game, I havent played it in a few days, i need to get back into it later this week. i didnt want to rush through it since i heard its kind of short. for $40 its a no brainer

Just went through that level and... WOW! This game is amazing. Played a little multiplayer and it's harder than I expected. It's pretty cool too. Whoever gave this game 4s and anything lower than 7 shouldn't be allowed to review another game. I rate it a solid 9. Best launch game no doubt.
Also I find interesting the amount of people who have rated this game on the X1 games store. 3600+, Forza has 4000+, KI 3800+, DR3 2500+, BF4 3000+, and COD 3300+. Does that mean Ryse has been bought more than COD and BF4? Probably not but definitely a good sign.
I went through the wilderness/river/aqueduct level last night. I just kept stopping and looking around at the environment. The lighting, the rocks, leaves falling and bugs buzzing, the plant variety ... it really is amazing. The textures are perfect. I highly recommend taking some time to really check it out, don't just rush through it!
ill have to check this swamp level out, I think i am only on the 3rd or 4th chapter, how far into the game is it? I might have to play tonight.
4th chapter. You go into Barbarian territory. That entire chapter is pretty amazing.
I'm already wanting a sequel, give us campaign coop and Calvary horseback slaughtering
That chapter sucked me back into the game.
I loved the spooky wooded areas. Kept thinking about Alan Wake 2.
Finished the campaign tonight and started the gladiator mode. MP servers were down so I just played single player - damn all those barbarians start surrounding you and you die, quick. I guess I should have used my focus more often. Gonna be fun to level up and unlock more equipment.

if they do a ryse sequel in england they could pull in more magical elements and such. Perhaps Excalibur could show up too
Well the game mentions England enough to make me think its the plan for Ryse 2.

It's been my favourite launch game so far. The combat is really enjoyable but it is about 6-8 hrs depending on difficulty. Buy the disk based version then you can get most of your money back trading in. I really am scratching my head at where some of these harsh reviews came from. No launch games are perfect but if you want some fun and to be blown away by the visuals, I recommend this game.

i have just finished the single player and really enjoyed it completed in about 7hrs and i think thats about right for this type of game.mind you i dont remember Boudicca riding on an elephant in my English history lessons.i would like the sequel still to be set in rome but they should have a more locations like Carthage and Egypt and things like sea battles and chariot racing would be cool.

Exactly. I can't think of another game before this that reviewed so poorly, that I loved so much!
