I didn't like it.

I think I got caught up in the hype a bit at first, the production values were great for an indie game but there also wasn't much going on. It was an interesting concept, I like that they tried something different but it just couldn't hold my attention.

I couldn't download it when it originally came out. Waited months for the physical release. Very disappointed. At least I wasn't stuck with the digital release.

Yeah I deleted it off of my external SSD within a couple of weeks of buying it, only played it for a few hours, I think I maybe fought one or two enemies the whole time lol but just didn't really feel the need to play it again.

It's weird that gamers don't get the free update. when they've bought the game and its DLC. The DLC was also delayed on Xbox because of the marketing deal with Sony. Remedy and 505 are on a roll. What a testament of respect towards Remedy's fanbase.

These all seem like publisher calls more than Remedy calls.

I don't think so.

When Remedy was asked about their decision regarding the Foundry DLC Xbox delay, they said they decided on doing it because of the visibility it would grant them with the Playstation deal, because, "we're a small developer working with a small publisher."

That doesn't mean it wasn't the publishers call.

When asked for comment, developer Remedy Entertainment directed Kotaku to 505 Games, which did not immediately respond.

Remedy answered like they had a say. It was a choice they made. If not, they could've said it was up to the publisher.

It's a tricky one. Ideally, we'd be putting all the content out at the same time. We're all consumers as well, and the second expansion (AWE, due in mid-2020) will be out at the same time for all platforms. But the reality is that when you're working on a new IP, and when you are a relatively small, independent developer with a relatively small publisher - no offence to 505 - that means we don't have tens of millions to spend on visibility. And at the end of the day, getting the word out is critical - and to get that support, you have to make some difficult choices.

The way they directed Kotaku about the upgrade makes me think the upgrade was 505's decision. The way Remedy answered about The Foundry doesn't make it seem like 505 decided for them..they called it a difficult choice. Remedy (and 505) just thought that they would get more visibility from it because they lack funds to promote the new IP.

So now this guy is supposed to know about pricing? lol First off Series S wouldn't exist if Series X wasn't going to be fairly expensive on it's own. Secondly the PS5 will likely be an expensive machine compared to the current gen launch, I'm guessing both the Series X and PS5 with the disc drive will be $499 and the digital PS5 will be $399 with Series S being $299. There needs to be at least a $200 difference between the Series X and Series S for the existence of both machines to make sense, you don't cut 8TF of power out of the GPU and a disc drive etc for only a $100 price differential.

As far as his "info" just about every bit of gameplay from the Sony event was in 4K and while I'm 100% fine with both next gen consoles using reconstruction techniques instead of going for native 4K and using that saved power in other areas I don't really believe this guy has the knowledge he's claiming to have outside of some very generic capcom info, some of which was public knowledge and rumor before he said anything.

LOL @ all of these tweets about fake 4K for PS5. Sure, it's one thing to say the XSX is obviously more powerful on paper and will most likely look better in regards to 3rd party games, but all of these claims about the PS5 not being able to hit 4K or the claims of some games having to be lowered down to 1080p are just too much.

we’ll have to revisit this at the end of this new generation

Didn't they announce a dynamic 4k 60fps for spiderman? That doesn't sound reassuring imo

Regardless of what the systems cost its something I would assume not that many would know the price at this point and therefore I think its less likely any supposed insiders would actually know it.

It would be a pretty baffling move if Sony goes $600

Yeah. I don't get it either. The power difference isn't that big.

Journalist Jeff Grub has heard the same thing Dusk Golem says about PS5 struggling with multi-platform games, at least at launch. (Video timestamp at 28:30)

As far as I'm aware they confirmed a 4k/60 performance mode. Nothing about dynamic 4K or checkerboarding outside game sites speculating that will be the case.

Well, on the other hand, third parties may want to push the graphics and effects like Sony like to but not want to drop to 30. There may be cases where they get their target graphics quality at 4K native on XSX and something less but reconstructed on PS5. Or they could choose to scale the effects down instead. Dunno. I think "hitting 4K" is a pointless metric, though, since 1440 ultra level settings upscaled will look much better than 4K low native. So, yeah, I agree that we'll probably see differences between the two consoles, but those differences will be different in different titles so the 4K thing is premature.

I see a lot of "the consoles will be a launch disaster without strong launch titles" a lot, but I don't know if that's true. It isn't for me. Price is going to be my #1 determining factor, and performance. If the consoles are on the low end (say $400 range), it is a no-brainer I buy both. If we see $600, I'm down to one or maybe even none. In the middle of that and I'll probably buy 1. Obviously if the price is different between the two, that will factor in as well. Halo being delayed honestly has zero impact on my decision. I have Game pass so of course I would have played it day 1, but it isn't critical. I'm probably going to spend my time mostly on multiplats anyway.

Most likely, I'm going to want the box with the most terafloopers to run multiplats the best + factor in price.
