I don't think so. Most of the multiplatforms are also on PC so if anything it would be that or the Xbox consoles as the leading platform maybe?

Maybe the PS5 is just easier to develop for, like that video where the dev ported his code over and it just ran first try. Sony's done a great job at that end.
Nahh PC and it's continued support for 5400 RPM drives is the lead platform.
Both consoles 3rd party games will be held back due to this.

Yeah too many gamers talk about PC as if it's one uniformed set of specs with no variation when it's the exact opposite of that. The potential is there to be first in power but it doesn't mean most people own a PC like that.

This is why there will always be a place for an Xbox console.

The Steam survey validates this: most PC gamers are STILL on 1080P with specs LOWER than the PS5 & Xbox SX.

Most PC gamers I see on youtube who try to "show off" their rig pick 1080p or 1440p at most and pick and choose settings to get a stable framerate (which is fine) but if you were to listen to a lot of forum posters (not here) you'd think everyone on PC was running everything at 4K Ultra 120fps and consoles are just garbage in comparison lol.

A couple of people may "laugh" at your post but what you said is true.

I say let the third party game comparisons speak for themselves. The generation is still young.
Comparisons in what way though? if they have to hold back world design or leave other possible changes that could come with only focusing on SSD that handicaps the consoles to a degree as well as PC's that happen to have a high end SSD.

PC can't run modern games with TRUE 4K either.

Will that still be supported though. Last gen and early this gen makes sense, but contining to support it for the next 7 to 10 years will be an issue indeed.

Right and even when it does do they go to 560mbps SSD's like the Samsung’s?
Cause if they do we will still be way behind what these consoles SSD'S run at.

  • Longer Eyelashes on character models on Series X
  • 8-10% performance differential between Series X and PS5 in favor of Series X in RT ON mode
  • In RT Of all consoles deliver a locked 60fps
  • In RT On Series S need a 30fps Cap

DF gives nod to Xbox. This is becoming pretty common lately.

They could've utilized the power of the SSD to compensate for the GPU. We could've been looking at native 4K on the PS5 @120FPS without a doubt.

Some engines run better on the PS5, some run better on the XSX.

Looks like the Capcom engine runs better on the Xbox Series X just like DMC, same delta 9-10% in DMC5 with RT on. But that combat scene in the field wasn't like for like, towards the end of the video in the like for like scenes, you can see the performance is closer with only 1-2fps delta between the two. VGtech confirms this as there's only a 0.39% difference at 60fps.

The eyelash is probably a bug as per DF, so nothing to really note there unless this is also in the final version.

Interested in how the final build head to head looks like when the game releases!

Looks like X is starting to take more and more of these, which we all kinda figured.

No it doesn't work like this

Spencer still trying to get xCloud on competing consoles. That is his way to get their first party games (IE Zenimax, etc) onto PlayStation.

Just going by the bullet points, who cares. Those are small differences. For a console you lot claim to be so much more powerful the differences are pretty sad.

PC can always just say "if you don't have the SSD for it, we require 32GB of RAM so we can pre-load all the stuff that the PS5/XSX/XSS is going to stream". Or if it's a Crysis level thing, 64GB so they can load every single asset in the game. Not to mention that there's nobody yet who can explain how loading 5GB/sec is going to change the design of an entire game - it'll make traversal and loading much faster, eliminate zone transitions, but there's always the same fundamental truth that if a game is 100 GB of assets, and you're able to load 5GB/sec, you can only have 20 seconds of unique experiences if you're designing strictly around that loading speed.

The differences are minor to the majority of these comparisons. Something that only DF would know and most wouldn't know unless DF pointed it out. Not to mention, most will buy the game for the platform of their choice no matter what, especially as tight as these comparisons are.

And has more posts in it than any other thread in existence on this forum. These comparisons will be here forEVA.....or until Plainview shuts down this forum!

Any cross-gen games aren't using engines that are going to fully utilize either new console anyway. People taking these things too seriously one way or the other right now are wasting their time.

Some Xbox fans just want another PS4 vs X1 situation but other way around difference but it's not happening.

The PS4's GPU was 50% more powerful than the X1 in addition to the tflops/ROPS/CUs difference.

I foresee the PS5 and XSX just trading blows in multiplatforms until at least the next-gen only era arrives then we'll see how the two compare.

Look at Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, worlds change in 1 second.

It's unsure during gameplay if you can pop in and out of worlds though.
