I understand people looking at this as MS needing better first party games on there, but when I can play Stalker 2, Back 4 Blood, 12 Minutes, Hades, and just about everything other game from their show day one on GP that is the WOW moment for me.

Not only is this going to continue, but this is going to get better which is insane to think about.
Because Gamepass is evil in disguise, it is Hitler reincarnated. Atleast according to some, naming no names, *COUGH* Valliance *COUGH*

Sony released some remakes. MS simply updated games for next gen... for free.

R&C is the PS5s first really big game, Spiderman is on PS4

The amount of work put into Demon's souls remake is way more than those free patches. You really comparing apples to oranges ?

Demon's Souls Remake and Miles were the PS5's first real big games as the same experience can't be played on the PS4 and we got them on launch day. Then the PS5 also got other exclusives like Sackboy and Astro's Playroom from launch day, Destruction All Stars in Feb, Returnal in April, FF7 Remake Intergrade/Yuffie DLC, Guilty Gear Strive and Ratchet and Clank in June.

While XS is still waiting for their first big exclusive in July in Flight Sim that's a PC port from an almost 1 year old game.

If Miles doesn't count since it's cross gen, I guess come Holiday 2021, Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5 won't count in your book either because they're on X1, right ? 🙄

If "no games" counts, then MS wins?

To be fair, the Flight simulator does count as it was NOT on the console. We are comparing consoles right.

"It was released on PC 10 months ago, so it doesn't count, it's old and it's dated and goes against my agenda." - Loving PS fan

Flight Sim should count as should all the games listed. I was just giving Xbox fans a taste of their own medicine.

Love it when they cherry pick Sony exclusives that don't count but when it's the other way around, it counts. Logic 🤷‍♂️

"It was released on PC , so it doesn't count, as we are comparing console" - Voice of reason
Corrected for you.

How can the game count when you can't play it on Xboxes. when it is made available, then for sure. I feel like I am the only rational person here.

Also, I have gamepass, & no Sony plus or whatever it is called, & never bought a PS game for at least at least 1-2 years. so there goes the Sony fanboy claim.

I could never tell the difference between 60fps and 120fps on a TN monitor with great ms response rate. On a IPS panel you can as the ms response rate isn't as good below the recommended refresh rate.

Am I the only guy that thinks 120 FPS is pointless on consoles?
I'm not sure I'd say pointless at this early stage of the generation. Techniques and tools could change/improve to make 120hrz gaming more in line with lower FPS standards.

I've only seen one game running at 120hrz, Dirt 5 and it looked so off to me in comparison to the higher resolution modes. The hit taken for 120hrz gaming is a bit more than I'm willing to sacrifice for but I only have one game for reference so I'm not sure how others handle it. Competitive console gamers probably feel differently.

I think it's pointless as not many TV's support 120hz yet.

Right now, console hardware isn't powerful enough to push both visuals and the high fps. So I would rather they focus on visuals and 60fps target first. Unless you turn down the resolution to sub 1080p and graphical settings to lowest then you could run older looking games. Even then, it's not consistent 120fps, there are dips to the 80-90s like Dirt 5 I believe ?

Maybe next generation when console hardware has caught up and we can get current gen visuals running at 120 fps consistently and 120hz TV's are more mainstream.

Bethesda’s Todd Howard on Leaving PlayStation Behind: Being Able to Focus Will Make for Better Games

Pick a side' meaning… PlayStation? Is that what you mean? Well.. a little bit. You don’t ever want to leave people out, right? But at the end of the day, your ability to focus and say, this is the game I want to make, these are the platforms I want to make it on, and being able to really lean in on those is going to make for a better product.

By focusing on those platforms, you really get to lean in a lot on making it the best it can be for those systems. [...] And we’re big believers in all of the avenues that Xbox and Microsoft are doing to get games to more people. Whether that’s the integration with the PC, which is huge for us, the cloud streaming and all those things. So I think it’s about taking a long term view. And our belief that those things are really fundamentally good. So we see it actually opening up more and more and more so that people’s ability to play our games - via GamePass and other things - their ability to play our games doesn’t go down. It goes up dramatically.

And I can say I’m proud to be part of Xbox. I think it’s great for the community of gamers.

For most games it seems unnecessary. I much prefer 60 over 30 on just about any game, but a smooth 60 is fine for me. Really anything beyond that is for really fast paced shooters and usually for higher skilled players who are really going to notice.

More options are good though obviously.
