I know Swede is just messing around but people who truly think that the way MS delivered their games in the past was the problem and not the appeal of the games they chose to make is hilarious.. Gamepass has been a thing for 4 years, it hasn't helped MS at all so far, Sony is making a killing on game sales.

Yea but it's helping gamers find new games and lots of upcoming games for the service to try and entice people into it. Plus we don't know if they're losing money on it or not she gets plenty of positive word of mouth.

We see how much they bring in and an MS exec said it wasn't making much money right now. I think a lot of the time when people say "I found this game I never would have played and I liked it" that's totally fine but that could work as a service without putting their first party AAA games on it day one.

The issue I have with that is I don't want them tailoring their games to fit the subscription model, they've already talked about backend monetization being a focus for how they will make money in the future to combat the losses of selling a game at retail. Usually when that's said someone chimes in with "oh yeah because Gears or Forza Horizon were all about microtransactions" in a sarcastic way but those games came out years ago and they aren't the ones you need to worry about, it's the future games that will be coming that will be tailored for the service not games that were in development before GP was a thing.

We'll see, they are doing it whether some of us like it or not, I just don't want them ruining their best franchises like they nearly did with fable by trying to make it an online co-op based game that wasn't fable at all, just some generic fantasy MP game with fable's name on it.

So...I gather Xbox won since you didn't give it to Sony.

Depends if you prefer fps over resolution again but the differences are so minimal that there's virtually no difference between the two really. I've given ties before.

48p difference res wise, 0.07% fps diff, one has a bit deeper dip but they are things you won't notice with upsampling and general performance. Hence why I said it's a wash.

Details are better with the PS5.
Resolution is better with XSX.
Performance is better with PS5.

I would choose PS5 but it's basically a wash.

Looks like PS5 had to dial back resolution to get decent FPS. Xbox version it is.

Fps is more important IMO. Resolution isn't as important since there's so many good upsampling techniques out there that output at 4k whereas you would notice fps dips more during gameplay.

This is an incredibly close call, but in the interest of naming a “winner” for the sake of conversation, I’m going with the PlayStation 5.
The thing is that I honestly think the Xbox Series X may end up having the better 2021 games lineup overall largely due to the number of indie titles the console is supporting and the value of Game Pass. In fact, we’re reaching a point where it’s hard to separate Game Pass from Xbox. If you’re a Game Pass subscriber, you’re about to be able to access more modern games (and a collection of classics) in 2021 than you may have ever had access to in your entire gaming life. It’s a great time to be an Xbox gamer.

If we’re just talking exclusives, though, then I can’t discount the fact that the only Triple-A Xbox exclusive that I’m confident is coming out this year is Forza Horizon 5 (not counting the PC exclusive Age of Empires 4). Even if Halo Infinite is released this year, serious questions remain regarding what kind of shape it’s in and how much of it we’ll get.

By comparison, PlayStation 5’s major exclusives for the year include Returnal, Rift Apart, Horizon Forbidden West, timed exclusives Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo, and notable remasters Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Intergrade and Death Stranding: Director’s Cut. I’m certainly worried about the PS5’s lack of games between those releases, but I’m more confident that each of those games is going to great (or very good) than I’m confident that some of those smaller Xbox titles are going to live up to what is certainly the high-end of their potential.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin Demo

PS5 rocking 31fps at 1080p. STILL early though, as it's just a demo. Still time to address the performance.

Yeah this game needs a lot of work. This has the same graphical fidelity as Nioh 2 and that can do 120fps on the PS5.

How can anybody take this article seriously? To come to his conclusion he had leave out the AAA and most visually impressive game Flight Sim. Then has to act like Halo might not hit this year.

He even states, " I honestly think Xbox may have the better game line up overall."

I mean WTF? What a joke. A perfect example of just how mind numbingly stupid and bad video game journalism has become.

He did include Flight Sim in his list but in the conclusion, he left it out for some odd reason.

"I honestly think the Xbox Series X may end up having the better 2021 games lineup overall largely due to the number of indie titles the console is supporting and the value of Game Pass." You forgot the last part.

He did also state it's incredibly close and that it's a great time to be an Xbox gamer.

If you don't agree with his opinion, that's fine too. Everyone is entitled to one.

Oh please. That article is stupid and click bait. It isn't even his opinion because he "honestly thinks xbox may end up with the better 2021 line up." Lol.
