I'm presently playing Dead Space, Skyrim, Age of Empires II, and will be playing this in less than 2 months. Who needs new games?!

Me.

Dead Space - Played like 13 years a go. Also replayed via BC like 18 months a go.
Skyrim - played in the last ice age.
Age of Empires 2 - Played like 20 years a go.

Remakes and Remasters are nice filler, which with all the delays last year and the slow start this year means Dead Space and AOE 2 launched at a perfect time, to fill the void. They have their place.

But these can't compare to a quality new game.

The good thing is they keep the same face of Leon from RE2. The graphics is a bit underwhelming (last-genish) if you ask me, but decent enough.

Not sure I will get the game, I already played on PS2. Remake just doesn't feel like a proper sequel/new IP, but I know I am beating a dead horse here.

For people who never experience the OG RE4, its a no-brainer though.

That would be me. Never played it 😊

I played through RE1 through RE:CV back in the day, never got around to this one. Hopefully during Halloween month they have a sale with this and RE2&3 together. Wouldn’t find finally playing this and through RE2&3 again.

Thanks PS4.

Original RE4 was great, fantastic even, but a RE it is not imo. Same with 5 and most of 6. Honestly, the only real RE games since Code Veronica is the REmakes of 2 and (to a lesser degree) 3 lol

Forgot about Zero, that was an RE game, although not particularly good.

I keep seeing the "Raccoon City Edition" bundle of the RE2 & 3 remakes popping in and out of sale on both Xbox and Playstation the last several months.. Looks like it's only $15 on PS5 right now (75% off), I definitely need to grab it at some point.

That's when I bought it which basically makes 1 of them free. I tell myself 3 was free because it was a bit s***.

I have the same feeling when I played. It played more like an action game than survival horror.

Nothing is scary when you have a rocket launcher.
I remembered a supposedly scary boss. But I killed him with one rocket.

To be fair the rocket rounds are very limited but you have so much firepower very little things are scary. I think there is also some cheese tactic like shoot them in the foot then punch or slam them. Cannot remembered the details but game wasn’t scary for sure.

Britney spear was annoying though , but it was a good and safe way to stab / shoot someone when they try to carry her away.

The big guy with the beard? If so that's how I beat him.

Yes, and the one thing that basically defines RE for me : zombies, hasn't been prevalent in the series for several console generations at this point.
I just hope they do a REmake of Code Veronica and perhaps give me a spin-off series with real zombies since they clearly doesn't think zombies belong in a new RE game going forward.

RE village is nice, but its not an RE game. Too fantasy/magic.

Are they worth ? Keep hearing mixed reviews of the two remakes. But for $9 a piece seems almost like a no brainer... I have never played them before.

RE2 remake is decent. You get some value of 15+ hours (on sales) if you play both characters. Mods help too like the sheriff Claire skin

I am not gonna pretend the reason I like the outfit is not what you think.

I love olive green. Guilty as charge.
