where did they lose market share?
The largest market of all. Planet earth.
The same thing could be said about last gen 360's success was directly tied to Sony's f***-up with PS3. Sony gave the market to MS and ended up closing the gap @ the end (which is a success in itself) but that was big blow to their original forecasts of how PS3 would dominate PS2s #s. So by another person's definition it could be the greatest f%&*-up in console history?I don't see MS cracking 50 million units by that time though. They're a cake with crappy ingredients at this point. It's not going to turn out well.
If you own two, you're probably rubbing yourself with peanut butter... DidIdothatright?Yeah the shelves are overflowing with hits. It's all our imaginations.
If you only on one system, you're probably perfectly happy.
There's H.G. Wells and then....there's you, THL. You're far better a science fiction than he is! Bravo!MS is basically on pace to lose marketshare by 10 million units per year. If by 2020, the Xbox One is sitting at 80 million units sold and the PS4 is sitting at 100 million units sold, the consider it phenomenal sailing by MS. I don't see MS cracking 50 million units by that time though. They're a cake with crappy ingredients at this point. It's not going to turn out well.
Both Gears (a 2016 or 2017 title) and Halo (a 2015 title) are going to be dwarfed by Uncharted 4 when it releases this year. Not because the game will necessarily be better but because there will be close to 20 million more PS4's out in the wild by the time Uncharted 4/Halo 5 comes out.

if one of the 2 is a PC I think? Also it is lathering yourself up in the butter. Keep the peanuts in the gradeschools...If you own two, your probably rubbing yourself with peanut butter... DidIdothatright?
I stand corrected. So it's "lathering?" .....Gotcha! Multi console owners are "lathering" themselves with peanut butter. I feel complete.if one of the 2 is a PC I think? Also it is lathering yourself up in the butter. Keep the peanuts in the gradeschools...

This whole industry is fluid and @ some point PS4 sales will slow down. @ that point expect the price drop but to keep preaching to us there will be geometric/exponential growth in PS4 sales all gen long is laughable. You are no expert at claiming anything. People will purchase a console @ the right price for 1 game and when xb1 has 10 @ the lower price point expect the sales to stay strong.
I'm content with current offerings to be certain. I dont have nearly enough time to game anymore so just owning one is ideal. I'll be taking a holiday in the near future so probably then I'll see about another console. Exec is buying a production studio in L.A. this year so I'll have both consoles in my office! He doesnt know it yet, but he will. lol.I'm just saying that if you buy 90% of the third party games on one system for obvious reasons, then the lack of exclusives stands out more on the other. If you just own one then you're buying all the games on one.
that is subjective though for me GOTY went to titanfall. No other multiplayer FPS was/is as intense.Exactly. Microsoft needs those types of games. I don't think price point is a major issue right now.

I think they've been doing a bang up job with what we've had on tap thusfar. Perhaps my not being able to play as much and greatly appreciate the times I do, have something to do with that. Not really sure how much else they could do at this point other than keep em coming. Plus, its not just gaming but current apps and updates I look forward too as well. There's just so much confusion and misinformation to over come for Microsoft this gen. So regardless of how many titles they release, each one will have to climb a hill of preconceived negativity to truly be recognized. But there are plenty titles released already that are just very solid offerings. In actuality, it can only get better from where I sit.My comments are not centered around sales. But obviosly the more great games you have will help sales.
I'm just saying in general Microsoft needs to pick it up. I doubt that Phil would even disagree.
The game is boring to me. Played a total of a few hours max and couldn't get myself to play it anymore.
Destiny has been the best next-gen game for me. Just find myself going back there on a daily basis because of the community I've built with some other random people that I've never met before. No other game has made me do that. I now have plenty of other companions to play with everyday to do raids, weeklies, strikes, crucible/PvP's, helping others with theirs and seeing what loot they get. Phenomenal what Bungie has managed to attempt to make. Social and clan features can still be vastly improved but they say it's a 10 year game and so far, I'm all in.
That's why it's subjective. Destiny bored me to tears.
But I can appreciate what they've created for you and millions of other fans.

Did you play with any UnionVGF members? Social is what makes part of the game fun but I can understand how it can be quite grinding for others.
The gameplay just never grabbed me. It feels like an mmo with a fps mod.
Yeah that's pretty much what it is. The gameplay mechanics and different weapons are what makes the game so unique and fun for me. If I may ask, what level did you get to before quitting? After 20 is where the real game opens up. Access to legendary, exotic gear, raids, strikes, PvP is where the game shines.
Honestly I didn't give much of a chance. Maybe down the road after a price drop. It's just a different game than what I'm used to from Bungie. Nothing wrong with that. I just didn't feel it.
I'm still on destiny daily since launch but the crucible is untouched since it doesn't hold a candle to titanfall. The game is boring to me. Played a total of a few hours max and couldn't get myself to play it anymore.

Clearly everyone is out to get Microsoft.
Its a solid shooter but I am surprised that so many people are still playing it. I don't know why people wouldn't just play a real MMO if they want that type of game. Destiny just doesn't have the content to justify that amount of grinding.
Because that's exactly what I meant, good job. It's so much more entertaining to succumb to clumsy theories than logic. Nobel prize to you. Your fantastic.
Good. Good for you, champ. Maybe you can have a statue build in your honor for your courageous efforts for the little guys everywhere. Wouldn't that be delightful?Hey I felt bad for the little guys. Having to overcome such unfair negativity from everything they do? Must be rough.

I just want to see more exclusives than what we're getting. It seems like neither were really prepared for next gen. But I assumed that with their first party efforts really drying up the couple of years on 360, that there would simply be more stuff shifted to X1. It's been a slow start for both.
