Sales Comparisons v. 2.0

Not in my experience. Exiting out of games to apps and back on PS4 is sluggish as hell. And its smooth on X1.

It doesn't remember passwords on websites etc..

The only thing that Sony's OS kicks Microsoft's ass on is installs. Imo

Not from my experience. Everything seemed more sluggish on the X1.

More problems that require hard reboots while my PS4 never did.

You can't even bring one party to another on the X1. You need to exit, re invite everyone.

Installs take longer, party chat issues...

Truthfully I'd rather have an internal HDD option.
Ok, and that's fine, but like I said earlier, this is a software issue that can easily be solved. .In no way is this a deal breaker. A deal breaker would be you not being able to upgrade the HDD nor there being an option for an external solution. This here is nothing more than a preference, so I don't see where the big deal is here. Eventually, the console will get an external solution, but as of now, it has a very workable solution until that time comes.

MS IS desperate but lowering the Xbox One's price to 349 while still getting outsold by the 399 PS4 obviously isn't enough. Trust me, they're desperate.
Trust me, you seem to be the only desperate one pushing this idea. It is like a lion afraid of a squirrel.

All the while, X1 has better games, a better OS, can be snapped to various apps and TV no problem, and even better (since HDD gets filled up fast), just plug in an external HDD via USB and you're set to go. On the other hand, Hard Land has to turn off his PS4, unplug it from all the cords, flip it over, get out a screwdriver and swap drives to play games on HDD 2. And then do it again to play games back on HDD 1. lol

You have to reformat the HDD each time you swap it out though, so that would be pointless.

That has been my experience as well.

Nice gimmick, too bad most gamers don't care.

Tons and tons of core gamers love snapping. Not sure about casuals though.

Do you not even realize that I prefer Sony's option?

You was so hyped you jumped the gun!
Its kool funny but kool.

Hyped? No, not at all. I was actually in the middle of a conversation while looking over this thread.

Intel has a very bad habit at throwing mud even though I don't see the point in it. I generally can admit when I think something is great or bad or even if I am wrong. What I don't understand is why would one make up stories just because they dislike another product? Is it because a keyboard is in front of them or what? .........or perhaps they just can't afford them all. I have no idea.

To me, the HDD debate is so pointless and one that I can't even see being an actual advantage, really. The reason be is, you have to go out and buy the both of 'em ANYWAY if you max it's standard supply out. Where is the advantage here? The only difference is how one is accomplished over the other. Its purely preference here. He might as well had debated the power supply on these two systems.

I didn't say no one liked it. However, fact is, one of the biggest complaints was the high cost due to forcing Kinect on everyone.
XB1 sales today would be dismal if MS had not removed Kinect. Truth is, most gamers are going to be....well....gaming.

I agree about Kinect.

So when is February NPD coming out and how do we think each console did? I think the Xbox One must be around 13 million worldwide sales by now. It's been awhile since Microsoft said anything.

February NPD is coming out next week I beleive.

Around 11 million for the Xbox One sounds believable. We'll never know from MS anytime soon though because the system will always be behind the PS4 worldwide.

The recent news shows you how the PS4 doesn't even need North America; Would still be doing similarly even if the Xbox One was #1 in NA.

The gen was pretty much decided in terms of worldwide sales when it was confirmed that the Xbox One wouldn't get a head start over the PS4 (regardless of price and the terrible pre-launch period).

I seriously doubt it being that high, not with them not having much to release for the pass few months.

Ok, so Sony is at 20.2 million sold through, world-wide. What do we suppose the MS numbers are?

What was Microsoft's last shipped number?

I don't remember. I think it might have been the "almost 10 million" they announced in ... early November, was it? I can't remember them announcing anything since. I could be wrong, though.

Oh, hmm

I think in November MS announced that they had shipped 10 million not sold through. I believe they called it sold in which is shipped.

Yeah, I checked. Yusuf Mehdi said on 11/12/14, "Shortly, we will have sold in to retailers more than 10 million Xbox One consoles." I assume they hit that number by the end of November.

Then we had Dec, Jan, and Feb. I'd estimate three months of sales would be about 2.5 million (that's 10 million sold over a year, divided by 12, which yields average sales per month, times 3 months). So, my guess would be 12.5 million shipped -- call it 13, because there was another week in March I didn't add in.

Then you're left with the difference between shipped and sold through, which, using flimsy data, I would guess is around a million. So 20.2 vs. 12, sold through. That's my guess. That would be a 5 to 3 ratio.

That's probably not far off either way.

Sony announced 18.5 million at the beginning of January, so they sold 1.7 million PS4s in two months.

20.2 million... it has nearly surpassed the Gamecube's total sales in 16 months.

Impressive numbers for Sony. But what realm do you have to live in to see, just what the Sam hell is selling this console? It's the most boring console this side of this generation. Almost every exclusive bombed thusfar (not to ruffle any feathers but it's true) no pizzaz, no excitement to it. Yet, it's the best selling console by a country mile this gen, and will probably remain so. Its baffling. I'd almost say, "Good job Sony!", but even they are bewildered. lol.

By far the most unorthodox generation I've ever witnessed.
