Sony: How to fumble a launch

Because, I said the software was a fumble. "I don't know how a team in a sport can have a fumble when they are winning 400 to 0". Come on guys, a fumble means just that, you make a mistake or create a mistake on something. Yes, sony won the game but they did havea fumble.\
Good point. A fumble doesn't necessarily mean a loss, it just means a mistake. I'd agree that the software launch line up on the PS4 (and perhaps a bit on the X1 as well in the eyes of some) was a "mistake".

Compared to what launch?

Why do people always forget that launch lineups are typically garbage? The PS4's launch was easily better than most.

I bet you loved Ryse though huh.
I never played Ryse, and I have ZERO interest in it. I had already spoke with illiniguy about this as well. He finished the game, thought it was beautiful...but lacked depth.

I CANNOT play hack and slash games. So Ryse will never grace my console..unless I got it free.

What else you got?

Please keep in mind that most things are subjective. What is not good for me or someone can be good for you. Like with most things, yes it can always be better but who can disagree that sony could have handled it better with games? They have been in the industry long enough I think. Either way, I do think they needed to make a "titanfall" like deal early on atleast. They want it to be like the ps1/2 days when developers have to come to them.

I don't see the point of someone saying, "im tired of seeing people say "this/that"" Tired of people saying there are no good games. Of course the point of someone liking game games or not liking are valid.

Why you...

But MLB son lets do this. Don't think I've added your new PSN to my friend's list so I'll have to get around to that. Speaking of baseball, you ever get to a Mallards game? I enjoy those but haven't been to a game since I moved to Dubuque.

Ok then it's the best current gen system. X1s and PS4s world wide bearing the weight of dust while they await a game to play. Meanwhile the Wii U is loaded with AAA quality first party games that MS and Sony only wish they could have.

Well, that's the benefit of being out longer, but I gotta say, the Wii U launch wasn't that much more impressive and there wasn't as much in the pipeline for the first year of Wii U compared to the PS4 and X1. These games really should have come out much earlier.

I'm currently replaying Ryse again on the toughest difficulty and its a blast to play and a sight to behold. True, it lacked the depth I would have liked with more moves, upgrades and varying enemy types. But the combat is fast and smooth (think Batman games with swords & shields) and most of all fun. The visuals are stunning at every turn and its got co-op which is always a plus for me.

But if Ryse is not your thing then try out the super fun Dead Rising 3. This was the first DR game I got into and man it was hard to put down. I've done multiple playthroughs along with the purchase of the first DLC episode with the second soon to follow. What makes this game to much fun is the large amount of unique, brutal and often times funny weapons which you can craft.

Find some motor oil and a broadsword and make a flaming sword, a motorcycle engine and boxing gloves to streak across with devastating impact like Balrog of Street Fighter. Maybe you want to make things go boom so then my friend craft the boom cannon by combining a shotgun with grenades. Or perhaps you're in the mood the squash and fry things at the same time then find yourself a sledgehammer and battery to create the Electric Crusher. Notice a pattern here, I just scratched the surface on the hilarious weapons you can create and there are over 100 to keep things fun.

You already now of the awesomeness of Forza so I won't bother. ;)

The PS4 on the other hand suffers from having too many game franchises which I've played before. Killzone is good but does nothing I haven't seen before. The co-op mode would fix that but who knows when or if that is ever coming out. Resogun is fun and I'm having fun with Black Flag again but I really only like the pirate stuff, the assassin stuff is so tired in my opinion.

Nah the PS3 lineup is much better ;)

When they bring a NEW Zelda or Metroid...then they can wear big boy pants.

I agree with your list, although The Order at least looks like an awesome rental.

Can't wait to play you in some MLB 14 this year btw. Problem is I have a feeling we will both want to be the Brewers!

Resogun is probably the coolest PS4 game right now in my opinion. The game really is a nexgen Geometry Wars.

Its cool, but I can’t play it for too long before my eyes start to bleed from the nonstop action and seizure inducing light show.

Once the Sony exclusives start to come in we'll be fine. And as an owner of both the X1 and PS4 I don't plan on missing anything. Next month should calm some gamers down. We have three entirely different games coming that are sure to please the shooter, stealth/action and open world action fans. If there are gamers who can't find fun in any of those games then I think its time they hang up their controller.

Um, I SUCK at the game...BIG TIME, but I love playing it for some morbid reason. Feel free to kick my ass up and down. :)

I have been to quite a few Mallards games! I only go in the duck blind!

I just added you to my PSN now.

Well I have never played the game before and I suck at all video games, period. They didn't have MLB The Show on Xbox.

Now now the PS2 launch was worse then the DC and broke records..
PS4's launch lineup isn't why its selling.

But that was a completely different animal. DVD is the reason the PS2 took off and that turned into a snowball effect of everyone wanting one because everyone else had one.

The PS2 was the cheapest DVD player on the market. Not to mention DVD was replacing a 30 plus year old format in VHS. The DVD movement was like a revolution and Sony was smack dab in the middle of it with the cheapest player that o BTW also played the best looking games with the most exclusives.

Those types of sales for a console will never happen again.

I would rather my system be covered in dust than have to dig it out of a grave to play Donkey Kong.

The thing I like about the Show...isn't the graphics...isn't necessarily the gameplay....but my god...the game is so in depth....with rosters and player customization and season's, it's mind boggling. I haven't seen a sports game with so much depth.

Shouldn't a baseball game have better than uncharted like models? No where near though. Really need to see "Beyond" beyond character models, guess the talent isn't there.

For over a year though, it isn't that great.

Also, Worse Main line Mario game every in World, just terrible. Rather you or whoever likes it or not that is fine, but for a main line Mario game. Really not what I expect at all. Even if they just made the style of Mario 64, but much more in depth and rich with some story elements and a lot more to it (longer, worlds with some exploration) and insaine visuals.. well that's more in line with my dream I guess. Mario Kart also seems to be a little strange with the transforming wall grinding, but we will see.

Let's get atleast 3 or 4 of the following before we are crowning Nintendo - F zero, Pilotwings,,Star Fox, Wave Race, Stunt Race FX U, A good Mario game (imo atleast).
