***SPOILERS*** Star Wars Episode VII ***SPOILERS***

I only called them plot holes...because you called the new movie as having plot holes. Either neither has plot holes, or all do. I've provided a laundry list of nonsense from the originals. These movies are meant to be enjoyed from a child's perspective. You over think it.
"Laundry list of nonsense from the original movies." Like two and a half examples. Like where Vader was too evil to save his own son because of something he did as a youngster decades ago. Or how there is no way Luke could survive fighting an old man who was taking it easy on him.

Go back and read my posts son, I've listed others.

What r your plot holes for the new movies?

Right, because initial scripts didn't have luke as his son, nor leia as his sister. Lucas made stuff up long the way, hence why I'm baffled that people would call Rey using the force nonsense, when the other movies were chocked filled with nonsense.

I think it went together great then, that makes the story much more interesting to have that family element. I really enjoyed them for what they were. The new movie just feels like a tribute to a new hope, which is fine too I guess.

Of course Luke is Rey's father. He's a single bro who knows how to swing his light sabre.
And bitches love big light sabres.
He's got kids in space ports all over the galaxy. But Luke gotta save the whole republic see, he ain't got time for no baby momma drama. And that whole going into hiding thing? Being a jedi never paid for s*** and all that child support be chasing a brother yo.

Is there a reason in the Prequels that Jedi aren't supposed to get married and have kids? It is kind of implied that this is the lazy way of avoiding emotional attachment which can make a fall to the Dark Side easier as was seen with Anakin.

Perhaps there is another issue they avoided which is succeeding generations are even stronger in the Force, like why Luke with minimal training defeated his father, and that is a problem they didn't want to even deal with? That kids of parents strong in the Force have a strong chance of being natural prodigies?

Luke is stronger in the Force than Leia, so if he's Rey's father that is simply why she picked up on it faster or almost naturally.

You listed it's impossible for Yoda to knight Luke. I don't get it.

No. Obie called him a Jedi from the start. Having the force doesn't make you a Jedi. My point being, elements were added as they went along.

I'm still waiting for what you consider a plot hole from the new movie.

I agree. My point was, that Lucas changed things as he went along. A lot.
No reason why JJ or Disney can't add or change things a bit themselves, when Lucas did it as well.
Adding to the lore doesn't make it plot holes.

Obi Wan never called him a Jedi in the first movie. Not that it should be a problem either way.

Is there a reason in the Prequels that Jedi aren't supposed to get married and have kids?
I'm pretty sure that's partly inspired by real life religious rules, like Catholicism where priests and nuns are not allowed the same thing. Prequel Jedi are essentially religious warriors, although I suppose they still are in the original trilogy. It's only expanded upon.

I vote DJ Deadscope for SW8 director. f*** JJ.

I finally saw the movie, Kylo Ren was pretty awesome! stopping that laser in the air was a great idea by whoever came up with it. I'm also really glad they toned down the lightsaber battles a bit, I was afraid we'd still have the 30 foot jumps in the air and the overly busy stuff from the prequels like swinging the sabers around for no reason

Seriously WTF was that? lol Thankfully the fighting was kept more "realistic" without a ton of flashy wasted motion, I know some people like the more Hollywood martial arts style fights from the prequels but to me it just seems like they are saying "look at how flashy we are" instead of looking like two people really trying to kill each other. I think overall this is easily one of the best Star Wars movies so far, not the best but it was the first time in decades that I actually felt some emotional connection to a Star Wars movie and I really appreciate that.

Fair enough. I'm still waiting for what you considered plot holes in the new movie.

"Fair enough" is you lying your way through this and hoping you aren't caught. Why do you keep trying to trash the original trilogy so bad? Nothing Luke did as a fighter pilot is comparable to Rey learning how to singlehandedly fly the Millennium Falcon like Tony Hawk on a unicorn.

Not sure why you think there are none as every movie ever made has them. If you want to fight against plot holes in SW:TFA then Google has numerous articles available for you to battle. The 1st that comes up in a search should keep you busy for awhile:

Mind you, I am in the suspend belief camp and thoroughly enjoyed the movie and will be seeing it multiple times during its first run. Good luck!

I didn't "lie". I mistook Obie saying he was Jedi knight like Luke's father, and recalled it as saying luke was a Jedi, as his father . It was an honest mistake, based on one line in an old movie.

As for Rey, she had piloting skills. The same way little kid anakin used the force without knowing he even had it, and even piloted a fighter ship.

Still waiting on what you consider to be plot holes. You're ignoring the request now after you've boxed yourself in when you said plot holes were elements that could not be explained. Since Rey's use of the force could be explained (even if not to your liking), it's not a plot hole. So...were you lying by calling them plot holes so you could "trash" the new movie?

(For the record, I don't trash the originals. I've probably seen them more than you have in my 44 years of life. I'm merely pointing out that the originals had nonsense as well, which I've pointed out, and you continue to ignore, and cling to the whole vader had a change of heart thing. No, I absolutely loved the originals, but I'm not blind to the fact that the movie had roll your eyes moments that children didn't question)

You want to compare Rey's piloting skills to the Prequels instead of the original trilogy. Why the change of heart? Did Luke destroying the Death Star start to make sense to you?

I said there was no plot holes, in the same vein as Kassen saying the originals had no plot holes. Either all of them have them, or none of them do. I'm just catching in him in his web of nonsense.

No, it doesn't make sense, as he wasn't trained. Can it be explained? Sure, the same way Rey can be explained. Rey already had piloting skills and was a skilled ship mechanic from before. She also was familiar with the ship because she made reference to it in the film.
It also doesn't make sense that Luke is supposed to be in hiding, yet holds the skywalker name. Or that vader was in leia's head, yet didn't know her to be his daughter.

One thing your missing here, and is common link among all three, anakin, luke, and Rey. They had natural piloting skills due to the force. How people find it acceptad that Luke and anakin had these instinctual skills, but God forbid that Rey had them is beyond me.

Either way, still, tell me what you consider to be a "plot hole", considering that nowhere in Star Wars lore does it say that a force user can't use the force without training.

But Luke was a skilled pilot, and Rey wasn't. Which is kind of why she was very strongly exclaiming how she had absolutely no idea how she even flew the Millennium Falcon like that.

Ahhh, I see. Kassen, ALL movies have plot holes. You can't do a 90-120 minute story on film without them unless the movie is done in realtime. That's my take on this 2 page tug 'o war.

In other news, this movie has reinvigorated my love of SW and now that I have the means I have at long last a Millenium Falcon coming my way. For the fellow nerds here it is the 2008 Legacy version in retro packaging...the Cadillac of Millenium Falcon toys. Sucker will be hanging in my man cave this week!

Try again, in the story "Before the Awakening", a prequel to the force awakens, it's explained that she even spent plenty of time in a fight simulator when she wasn't out scavenging.

So again, where's this hole you keep mentioning.

Agreed. With a fantasy story like this, lord of the rings, Harry potter, etc...you need to suspend belief.
