Star Wars: Battlefront to Debut Next Month, Platforms Confirmed

I have no clue howto post Twitter posts, but the platforms confirmed are PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and a holiday 2015 date given.

Electronic Arts will offer more details about Star Wars: Battlefront next month during the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, California. This isn't altogether surprising, as EA's name showed up on the show's schedule earlier this week. At the time, EA wouldn't say why it was attending the event. Now we know.

The Star Wars Celebration takes place April 16-19, though in its announcement today, EA did not say which day of the show it plans to unleash the Battlefront details.



"We could not think of a better or more appropriate place to debut the game officially for the first time than the premier event that celebrates the Star Wars universe and the legions of fans who have fallen in love with it," EA said.

Ill be disappointed if Battlefront doesn't have the tug of war battles for each planet. If its the run of the mill mp with a random map rotation, my excitement will be lowered significantly.

Battlefront has always been about objective gametypes. Hell, battlefield always has, so with DICE doing this, I'm sure it's gonna be at least a tiny bit more complicated than "shoot that guy/droid/clone."

Though I'm sadly thinking they're only doing the GCW era and slightly beyond. No clones or droids.
 
Battlefront had a pick n' play ease that I doubt DICE will be able to replicate. It was sooo fun playing as a droid sniper and then upgrading to a droideka on the spot.

DICE will debut the Star Wars: Battlefront official reveal trailer during its Star Wars Celebration panel on April 17th, starting at 10:30 am PT.

We knew Star Wars: Battlefront would have a presence at the upcoming Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, but now we know exactly when.

Gameplay for Star Wars: Battlefront will also be on display "behind closed doors" at EA's booth.

Despite EA referring to it as the "reveal trailer," we did see bits and pieces of the new Star Wars: Battlefront at E3 last year, including a short making-of. However, with Star Wars: Battlefront aiming for launch later this year, fans are hoping to finally see the game in action.

Those who can't make it out to the show can catch the reveal trailer on EA's website and official Star Wars channels during the convention, which itself runs from Thursday, April 16th to Sunday, April 19th.

IGN will also be at Star Wars Celebration, bringing you all the latest news about the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront and more as it happens. Stay tuned.
 
Gameplay will also be on display for ''behind closed doors'' it says. Hopefully that ''also'' means gameplay is shown in the reveal trailer too and not that it's just a CG trailer and that they keep the gameplay stuff for behind closed doors. God that would be s***ty.

Dice - Johan Andersson Technical Director on Frostbite (@repi) on Twitter wants to try and push the graphical limits for Star Wars Battlefront and says it may require Win10 & DX12/WDDM2.0, aggressive but major benefits.

Star Wars Celebration is just around the corner and EA/DICE have plans on showing off there official debut reveal trailer for Star Wars Battlefront, below are some tweets from Johan Andersson and explains what he wants to be seeing in 2016.

Would like to require Win10 & DX12/WDDM2.0 as a minspec for our holiday 2016 games on Frostbite, likely a bit aggressive but major benefits.
Johan then carries on to say this:

I do think the Win10 adoption within core gamers will be really quite fast, and Microsoft is helping with their upgrade program. We are implementing both DX12 & Vulkan and will be able to compare and see, could be that we ship only DX12, or only Vulkan, or both, but we'll see if some gamers still intend on staying on Win7/Win8 for some reasons, hopefully not.


Some DirectX 11.1 cards will take advantage of the driver and software tech implemented in the new software API so do not be worrying just yet about upgrading.

That article on IGN a while ago where they said that people who had seen gameplay of it, that it didn't feel like any other shooter, not like a BF game, that makes me hopeful. I really want to some footage. This trailer better show gameplay this week.

That's good. battlefront was unique. good to hear it just isn't battlefield 4.7 with a star wars skin

Damn I totally forgot about EA access..I didn't see the point, but now..

It's gonna be one of those super-posed trailers from PC footage, EA always does that...LOL! Still, I heard the game looks great on all platforms in-game for the number of characters on the screen. There were some tweets from DICE people recently on Twitter.

Star Wars BattleFront Devs Teasing And Hyping; Breaking The Internet With Upcoming Trailer

There is nothing new to certain titles getting more hyped than others but developer EA Dice has gone on a teasing and hyping spree for their upcoming Star Wars title ‘Battlefront’.



The game is scheduled for a release late this year and will receive a new trailer next week. According to some of the people who are working on the title, fans should check out the EA Star Wars Instagram:

The devs have been tweeting about breaking the internet next week with their new trailer:





The phrase from Johannesen refers to the destruction of Alderaan in Star Wars Episode IV. Stay tuned for the trailer next week. We can’t wait.
