System Sellers? Titanfall and Infamous

When did each bundle come out? Has the Infamous bundle been out longer than Titanfall's?
Probably more to do with the fact you can get a PS4 with the preorder.

Titanfall at 23 is totally unexpected. I expect far better.

On the other hand, looking at the games by themselves, Titanfall is quite far ahead of the competition, ranking 8th against 33rd.

Not to poo poo infamous as I think it looks amazing visually and have the game pre ordered.

That expensive infamous bundle is still #1 on gamestops best seller list, the X1 with the digital copy of titanfall drops each day, it's #12 now. I'm sure TF will sell well to people who already have an Xbox One but I'm still not convinced it's going to move a ton of consoles, there will be a bump but I'm not sure it'll be anything significant or long lasting. It's kind of hard to say if infamous will cause a big bump in PS4 sales either considering the fact that it's been selling well since launch anyway.

Someone need to find a way to keep this information from Mcmaster. I worry he will get a heartattack with this information. :(

Haha,Well these are all obviously pre order sales since neither product is on the market yet but when you have a $570 bundle outselling a $500 console with a free digital copy of a game that's been hyped to no end it's not a great sign.

I think it just goes to show that people are really desperately trying to get their hands on a PS4 and maybe the price difference wasn't so huge of a factor in console choice after all.

The Titanfall bundle was 23rd now it's 12th and it's dropping everyday?

I think both will do well since there's basically nothing else in the way of big exclusives. Titanfall spread across three platforms thins out the X1 sales a bit.

When they wrote that article it was 23rd, when I first clicked the link provided from that article on Thursday it was at #9 and later in the day went to #10 then yesterday was #11 and today it's #12 so it is dropping from it's highest point. It has risen from that 23 spot yes but the highest point it has reached so far was #9 and it already has dropped a few places from that spot over the period of just a couple of days. This probably doesn't mean a whole lot in the grand scheme of things, it's one retailer and it's pre orders for products that aren't out yet, the PS4 bundle is also only available online and that X1 with the free digital copy of titanfall is going to be available everywhere.

Most likely the case.

I don't see infamous as being a system seller, but I could be wrong.

I don't see Infamous as being a system seller, either. I think the bundle sales are mostly people who have already wanted a PS4, found them difficult to locate, and have purchased the bundle primarily to get a PS4 and only secondarily for Infamous. They are not buying the PS4 because of that game. That's my assumption, anyhow.

I'm not sure whether Titanfall will be a system seller. Since the X1 is apparently easy to find without Titanfall, perhaps the bundle sales can be assumed to be people buying the console specifically because of Titanfall?

I guess we'll have to wait for the March NPD numbers in April, before we can say anything definitive.

I don't think either game is going to be a huge system mover. But if I had to choose which one would move more consoles it would be TF since it is being hyped and is a competitive shooter.

Although CoD and BF are the best selling games on both system I think, I don't see the interest (or sales) Ghosts and BF4 have had vs. previous CoD and BF games. If anything, I think competitive gamers would be more inclined to grab TF for fresh online competitive matches, as opposed to SP gaming like Infamous.

If this was 3 years ago, everyone would be yammering in CoD threads on all forums. CoD interest is dead. And with BF4 having so many issues, you hardly see any BF threads either.

Oh yeah, Titanfall has about 30 times the hype level of Infamous. Plus it's aimed right at the demographic that flocks to CoD. If either of them is a system seller, it will be TF.

Gotcha. Thanks for the clarification.

I would think that any bundle at this point would do fairly well. Ps4 for simple availability. X1 for value and a kind of price cut. Plus both games look awesome.

No prob, I can see how that was confusing ;)

As far as either game being a system seller, I'm sure both will move some consoles but I think this early after launch it's really hard to label any game a true system seller. The X1 even with the free digital copy of TF is still $500 and if you aren't already an XBLG subscriber you are going to have to pay another $60 just to play the game since it's a MP only title with no offline modes. I have no doubt at all that it will sell a ton of copies to people who already own an Xbox One but I am skeptical that it will move more than a couple of hundred thousand extra consoles overall especially if the 360 version ends up looking solid.

I, for one, won't be shocked when TF sells more on PC than XB1.

I don't think TF will be a system seller just because it's available on the 360. I know a lot of people have their season passes for COD or BF and are waiting for next year to see where to go. It will be interesting to see how it compares 360 to xb 1. Not being exclusive, TF just doesn't push people to change.

You're probably right about Infamous but the PS4 really didn't have a must have launch title like the Xbox One did in my opinion. I believe Ryse and Forza Motorsport 5 were much more appealing to people than Killzone: Shadow Fall and Knack and i'm enjoying Killzone at the moment but it's not doing what Ryse and Forza 5 did for me.

I think Infamous can be seen as a system seller purely on the fact that the PS4 needs a go to game right now. Plus it just looks like a damn good game. Titanfall is without a doubt a system seller. Anyone who denies that is well.. in denial. I don't care that it's not a true exclusive. It's a console exclusive. If people cared about PC they'd play it on PC but obviously when the sales data comes out we'll see that Titanfall sold much more on the Xbox One. Go figure.

Is the Infamous bundle only available at Gamestop?

For what it's worth, Titanfall is outpacing Infamous on amazon... MGS V PS4 is too.

This is a weird angle to take on this, to pinpoint "Infamous" as a system seller, knowing damn well they could have bundled in a bag of rocks with the PS4 and those units would have sold out at the same price.

I think Infamous by itself is not a system seller but it is a solid title for the PS family and seeing how it's been pretty dry since launch, in reality this is the next big exclusive to come out for the PS4 so it should sell well (hopefully).

Titanfall, on the other hand, can't really be classified as a system seller too since it's out on the PC and 360 as well. What games in the past were MP only and moved a significant amount of units? Can't seem to think of any off the top of my head.

I dont recall there ever being an MP ONLY game released like this. There has always been a SP to go along with an MP. Titanfall is the first of its kind I believe.

I agree. But we'll see. It's a new trend.

Do you think Destiny will move consoles?

Destiny is an interesting title because it combines the Single player and MMO/MP portions together rendering it more of a true hybrid SP/MP than Titanfall since apparently you're able to beat the storyline and progress by your lonesome. If Destiny came out on only the PS4 or Xbox One, I think it would move more consoles than Titanfall but that's just my opinion.
