Official Thread The Division v. 2

I always thought of reckless as a buff

Not surprising. I mean it wasn;t working properly 98% of the time and actually gave you 20% extra damage instead of 10% extra damage and 10% extra incoming damage. Lol.

So I just cvaught last weeks Stae of the Game stream and saw some noticeable changes.

Tacticians Authority - 2 piece:10% Skill Haste. 3 Piece: 10% Skill Power

Lone Star - 3 piece: 8% base damage increase to LMGs and Shotguns.

Predators Mark - 2 piece: 10% increase to reload speed. 3 piece:8% base damage increase to Assault rifle & SMGs

Banshee(replaces the B.L.I.N.D gear set) - I essentially a PvP gear set designed around the rogue system, and the bonuses offered changed depending on your rogue status. So, when rogue - all ammo will refill every 30 seconds and you will take 10% less damage from non-rogue agents.

Weapon Recalibration - will give you six talents to choose from, as well as your starting talent.

Named Weapons
- No longer level restricted, so you can finally get a 229 Hungary Hog or Caduceus.

Vendors - Will now sell sealed caches for all in game currencies.

Some interesting changes there. What does seem to be a common theme in 1.4 is that most things scales now rather than being flat number increases.

Still no date for 1.4 though. I for one and super excited to try out this huge update when it drops.

Nope. If you want an electronics build then you have to heavily invest in electronics and sacrifice some of the other 2 main attributes.

Good days ahead.

That's cool. I'd like it if the squad was made up of more than just one build, and actually make it viable to build other classes

It should be that way. Now that they have removed the 'mandatory builds' needed to complete end game content and made each main build a high investment, should mean greater diversity of builds. But as is always the case, one build will become the meta and be more popular than anything else.

Massive has said that we will still get purples from trash mobs no matter the world tier. Trash mobs also have a chance to drop high-ends or gear sets. I can understand that since we will need crafting materials and currency from selling them so getting purples makes sense. But while I was reading the official forums some are complaining about getting way too many purples and not enough of the good stuff. I really hope Massive finds the right balance for loot drops.

Gamers are already making a fuss about the new Banshee 4 piece bonus which takes away any darkzone penalties. I like that idea because its bad enough getting jacked for gear but to lose XP and currency sucked so Banshee will be my DZ farming set.

My understanding is that purples from trash mobs will be the common reward. There was an issue with named NPCs dropping purple, but they have fixed that in the latest PTS build, or so they claimed.

The problem right now is that the PTS builds are ever changing, So for us not involved in the PTS we have to take any complaints in context and realize that this is exactly what the PTS is for.

Dark Zone can f*** off in its current state. The rogue system is simply not fun. The Banshee set does nothing to fix the fundamental problems of Dark Zone.

Good point about the PTS. Things are subject to change because they are still testing.

I agree about the DZ. I didn't like the idea from the beginning. But it can be fun for farming purposes. And a gear set that removes DZ penalties will help me level up. In all the hours I've put into this game I still haven't reached a high DZ rank because of the grief that area causes. Also, Massive said they lowered the respawning of named enemies in the Open World from 24 to 4 hours. I hope that remains because that means I don't have to step foot in the DZ if I don't want to.

Dark Zone was kind of fun in the beta and early launch. Few people went rogue and extracting with others around was tense, but ever since they lowered the penalty for Rogues it is just a s*** show with any extraction being jacked. Not to mention having a brawl with the A.I and accidentally shooting a human player makes you an easy and vulnerable target.

It needs some serious tweaking.

All sounds positive. I heard they were going to improve the named weapons but I didn't see anything in there about that.

They are not improving them per se, but they are removing the level cap they have.

Is there a solid date for the update yet?

Nope. The plan is to release it this month.

I did get the impression from the last State of the Game that this 3rd week of PTS was planned as the last, so we could get a date this week.

I have been looking at the revised gear sets to see what sort of build might be best to go for in 1.4. Surprising, I think 2 of the worst sets in 1.3 might be two of the best in 1.4....they would be Firecrest and Hunters faith.

Firecrest - Gives 50% range & 30% damage to flame turret and the 4 piece gives 15% of extra damage to burning enemies. I think this could possibly be a great PvE set....especially if have say 2 group members running it.

Hunters Faith - Previously it was pointless, but now they have made the 4 piece protection perk work with any weapon and that protection now applies to the whole group. I think this could work well with say an electronics build that sits back with an LMG and just unloads on everything.

The other strongest sets would likely be Predators Mark and Alpha Bridge....maybe Strikers Battlegear as well.

Sets like Lonestar and Reclaimer are pretty much the same as before.

I’m really anxious to try out 1.4 tomorrow. I’ve been following a few youtube content creators that cover this game. And most of their impressions of 1.4 has been really positive. One dude even posted a side by side video of game play showing 1.3 & 1.4 to illustrate the difference in time to kill and it was really dramatic.

There are so many builds I want to try. I think I’ll try Firecrest first since I always liked the turret and since its been buffed its actually a good skill now. But I also want to try out the shield, another video I watched showed this gamer as a super tank on Falcon Lost Incursion while his team picked off the enemies. It looks like build diversity is a thing now but we won’t know for sure until 1.4 goes public.

The update is available for download. Is 5.4GB on Xbox One.

For whatever reason this game doesn't usually auto update for me so I'll probably need to download it after I get home tonight.

Auto downloads in general are very spotty for me. Sometimes it works perfectly, sometimes doesn't work at all.

It's game specific for me. Division is one that doesn't work ever. At least it's only 5.4 gig.
