I heard Toyota is backing away from EV and looking more into Hydrogen. I mean, in a way even this would technically be EV in that it has an electric motor system, but source the power from Hydrogen Cell technology.
If they have a solid tank system that keeps Hydrogen from seeping away, I think this is really a better option. People wanna park the car in the garage lol. Also, I heard Hydrogen itself can be a Greenhouse Gas so it can't be seeping out to rise in the atmosphere.
Could a car like this in an accident also be quickly totaled by insurance? Well, I guess it wouldn't be to hard to test the integrity of the tank system, but that's possible. Hopefully though, the car scrap would be easier to reprocess overall and not have junk battery leftover.
Wearing one of Toyota's most striking designs, the 2023 Mirai hydrogen-powered sedan looks like it rolled straight out of a future where boxy SUVs are so passé.
