Unfortunately, this is not happening. Found out Wednesday we lost the pregnancy.

Not something I thought would hurt this much but I was wrong. Life sucks sometimes. Feel kind of alone in the frustration and grief or whatever you want to call it, as we’ve hardly told anybody.

At least it’s the weekend.
f*** man... that's hard. We lost one a few months into the pregnancy too. Wife took it much harder than me, and I think my pain was more from seeing her break apart.
Still, I know the pain and the only comfort I can tell you is that it does stop hurting... eventually.

Much love to you and your family.

New trucking job is an odd mix of being very manageable, but extremely boring.

I just deliver to Menards and they're an easy customer to deal with. Nice big stores to move the big truck in to back to the dock.

Still.... long days of super boring driving. I need to find some audiobooks or something these days can be so dull.

I was going through tv channels last weekend and ran across the dumbest garbage I've ever seen.

People who are in a relationship yet constantly post selfies (of just themselves without their SO) are just looking for some side action.

Anyone else watching economic conditions and seriously concerned about what 2024 will look like? We've got some money saved, but I've got a sense we're going to have to start tightening the belt a bit.

No, the economy is better than its ever been according to what I've read on this forum. Even though people in this region are losing their homes/farms and living in small sheds like you'd find for sale at Home Depot. Car repos are at the highest they've been in years. Interest rates continue to go up. Food prices keep going up and getting less. Every single aspect of trying to exist is on the rise. Nothing to be concerned about.

The sad truth is that having some money saved puts you way ahead of most.

I'm going to hit 50 early next year and retirement seems about as real as a unicorn.

I'm applying for jobs that I really don't want, only because the pay is higher. I don't want to take on a job with way more stress, and I also don't want to move and then get stuck laid off in an economic downturn.

The job where I am is safe, but the pay increases are super slow.

The thing is, the economy is better, but that doesn't mean that things are any better for most of us.

The middle class is shrinking and constantly getting squeezed. Unemployment is super low, and that's a good thing. There's hardly anyone out there out of work. However, there's tons of us underemployed. We have a job, but not making what we need.

The economy seems mostly okay except Housing continues to be insane.

Many are being dismissive about the impact of Student Loan repayment, but that just restarted; let's see what happens during Thanksgiving / Christmas.

There has been some grumbling at work about freight though. Our main account is Menards.

I think the Economy which is Production and Commerce is doing well. I don't think working Americans are the Economy, but we hope to benefit from it. For now, we aren't benefiting as much as we should.

All the things still higher than normal here off the top of my head… gas prices, food prices, everyday house goods prices, electric bill been way higher than normal, and our car insurance keeps going up $20-$40 each year, streaming services and subscriptions keep going up.

What percentage of your income is your rent/mortgage? I know rent is quite high, but not many people have been taking out home loans due to the high interest rates.

I paid off my house a few years back, and paid off my last car loan. Basically, I am debt free, but it still seems hard to acquire any wealth.

The real problem I find is scraping together enough savings that I can risk investing. I can throw a grand or two in a CD, but that's nothing. I should have thrown everything in the market years ago, but one downturn could then wipe me out.

Wages don't keep up with inflation. The only way to get more pay is to jump jobs. There's some better paying jobs out there, but usually for big corps that will just lay off when it suits them.

I've got an interview this week, but seeing all the tech layoffs makes me hesitant to jump. At this stage in my life, I was hoping to coast to retirement, not have to start over.

My house will be paid off in a couple years. I have no car loans. No credit cards with balances and no other loans.
